Lahat ng Kabanata ng Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.: Kabanata 101 - Kabanata 110

Kael’s POVI stepped into the room and all the noise died. It was like someone had hit pause on the entire world. They all stared at me in shock like I was some ghost coming back to haunt them and maybe I was. I saw death just to prove them wrong and they were going to pay for making me go through all that stress. “You are in my way,’’ I muttered to Orion, gesturing him to move aside with my head. My tone filled with mockery. Orion slowly moved out of the way. He looked shocked but not as shocked as I thought be would be. Disappointing. I slowly walked to my seat, my eyes sweeping through the crowd. Some of the elders shifted in their seats. A few lowered their eyes. Others tried to keep their backs straight like they weren’t scared. But they were not fooling anyone, I could smell their fear from a thousand miles. I walked to the center of the room, standing in from my seat, my eyes sweeping through the crowd again. Satisfied with the fear on their faces, I pulled out my chair, t

Xena’s POV The sunlight came in through the shutters, the soft sunlight on my face was enough to remind me that I was now free. I hope so. I inhaled deeply and got out of bed, stretching my arms. It was good to be home after so many days in captivity. I turned my head—and there he was. As handsome as the moon. He curled into himself, his tiny hands balled under his chin like fists made of petals. His lips parted, just barely, like he was murmuring secrets to the dream-world.I traced a finger along his cheek. It felt so warm and impossibly soft. No wonder Kael was acting weird. The boy's face was cute enough to melt his son's heart. And I hope he looks nothing like his father. "Morning," I whispered. "I hope you dreamed better than I used to because you deserve more than this world can give you. He lips curled to the side again but luckily he didn't wake up—like he was trying to smile. I could’ve died from how fragile that made me feel.“I'm grateful to the moon goddess for givin

Xena’s POVKael was already lying on the bed like he had nothing to worry about. He laid shirtless, relaxed, and looking smug, as usual. I didn’t have that luxury. My baby was screaming like someone had set his tiny butt on fire."Okay, okay," I whispered, rocking him gently in my arms. "It's just bedtime, not the end of the world."He wasn’t buying it. He kicked her legs and wailed louder.Kael stretched his arms and looked at me from the corner of his eye. “He’s got lungs like her mother.”“Kael,” I growled through gritted teeth. “What are you even doing here?”“You don't want me here?” He asked. “I want you to help,” I frowned. “I know it is not your child but I will appreciate a little help or you could leave.”“I’m already helping,” he said, turning his head toward me again. “I’m staying out of your way.”“Wonderful. So helpful,” I muttered.I bounced him gently, side to side. He stopped for one second. I held my breath watching him, and just when I was about to let out a sigh o

Xena’s POV“Please… please stop crying,” I whispered, bouncing the baby gently in my arms, my eyes red from exhaustion. “Just give me ten minutes… that’s all I’m asking for. Ten minutes of quiet.”But of course, he didn’t listen. His little face scrunched up, red as a tomato, his tiny fists waving in the air like he was ready to punch me for making him exist.I was alone. Completely alone.Susan—who was supposed to be helping me—hadn’t shown up all day. She’d sent a message this morning saying she was “busy with family matters” and that she’d “check in later.”Well, it was already late afternoon, and there was no sign of her. My hair was a mess, I hadn't eaten, and I hadn't slept. The baby had been crying since dawn. I was running on empty.I sat on the couch and rocked him harder, humming a song I barely remembered. My arms were tired. My back hurt and my eyes burned.A knock on the door made me freeze. I froze. My heart pounded as I stared at the door, wondering if I’d imagined it.

Kael’s POVI was halfway through buttoning my shirt when Viktor burst into the office. His face said everything before his mouth did. “We need to talk.”“About what now?” I muttered. My body was still sore, and I hadn’t had more than three hours of sleep. I wasn’t in the mood.He tossed a thick file on my desk. “The High Priestess tested your son’s blood.”I froze. “…My what?”“You heard me. Xena was dragged to perform some confirmation test—-” I cut him off. *Some what?” I snapped, my body acting defensively on its own. “Relax, everything turned out fine and that's why I'm here,’’ Viktor explained. My brows furrowed to curiosity. “What are you talking about?” Viktor leaned forward, looking at me like I owed him something. “The test came back positive. The child is yours.”I froze. “What? The child can't be —-” my words trailed off realizing what happened. Viktor dropped into the chair across from me, breathing hard. “I thought you planned this with the priestess but seeing your
