Celia laid down after making the post. It had been a long day. She set her phone aside, ready to finally get some rest, until Rafael’s call came in.“Who do you miss?” Rafael’s voice cut in sharply from the other end.“The noise over there is too much, I can’t hear you clearly,” she replied, her voice uncertain.“Celia, you heard me.”She froze, unsure how to respond, She ended the call without another word and dropped the phone beside her. Her chest was tight, but she pulled the covers over herself, determined to sleep. She wasn’t ready to deal with what that call stirred in her.Far across the city, Rafael lowered his phone slowly, the silence on the other end heavier than any argument. She had heard him, he knew that."Miss him," Rafael muttered, jealousy edging every syllable.Mason, who had been standing a few feet away, glanced up from the tablet in his hands. “She might be referring to someone else, not Lorenzo.” “It certainly is.”“I never thought I would live to see the d

Celia paused, unsure of what to say, while Rafael continued watching her, waiting for an answer.“You made it clear that you liked me, and I got that. But you never asked me to be your girlfriend, until now, right after seeing Lorenzo. So tell me, is this coming from a place of jealousy?”“Yes, I’m jealous,” Rafael admitted, his voice low but steady. “But asking you to be my girlfriend, this isn’t about him. It’s about us. I want to make this official between us, Celia. I have wanted that long before I knew about Lorenzo.”Celia raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a mischievous grin as she placed her fork on the plate.“Is this how you usually ask women to be your girlfriend? While sharing breakfast, in a cramped chair, stealing all the personal space like it’s yours?”Rafael laughed softly, adjusting his position slightly while keeping his arm wrapped around her waist, and whispered, "Just for you."She laughed softly, the sound warm and unguarded. Then her eyes met his, and som

Celia was terrified, her body damp with sweat despite the cold air in the room. She lay completely still, her breathing shallow and panicked. Rafael assumed she was fast asleep. After taking a cold shower to cool down, he stepped out with a towel loosely tied around his waist, lit a cigar, and moved to the window. After standing by the window for a few minutes, Rafael walked over to the bed, his gaze softening as he looked down at Celia.“My queen,” he said, gently trailing his fingers along her cheek.“You’ve been sleeping for so long, wake up,” he whispered into her ear.Rafael was taken unaware by Celia’s next action, she slowly let her hand outside the cover and held the side of his neck pulling his face from her ear side to her face, she kissed him, she pulled away and they looked at each other, “Did you get some rest?” she asked.“I did. I’m just waking up,” Rafael lied.“I think I should head back.”“To where?” Rafael asked, his face pulling into a slight frown.“My…” Celia h

Celia rolled her eyes. Even though she had already overheard the entire conversation earlier, she still wanted him to fill her in, she wanted to see how he would handle the matter. But he had clearly declined.“See you later, then,” she said.Rafael kissed her cheek and turned to leave. He walked down the hallway with calm confidence, his steps steady and sure. At the end of the hallway, he opened a door that led to the underground area.Rafael stepped into the room, his presence commanding immediate attention, the low murmur of conversation among the assembled gang members ceased as all eyes turned toward him. “Why are you all here?” he asked, his voice firm and authoritative, cutting through the silence.“Mason called us in,” Fiona said sharply, her voice cutting through the room like a whip. She bit her finger in a slow, deliberately seductive gesture, eyes locked on her target with an almost predatory glint. Her tailored suit clung tightly to her curves, the blazer barely conta

Celia frowned, while Rafael just shook his head.“You heard my conversation with Mason, didn’t you?” he asked, reaching for her tiny fingers.“Oh, I did,” Celia admitted reluctantly, realizing there was no point in lying. “And why do you think I heard? Were you eavesdropping on my conversation with my friend?”“I heard it by accident. And you know, the less she knows, the safer she is.”She nodded slowly, “Does Mason hate me?”“No. Why would he?”“There are plenty of reasons for him to hate me.”“I can assure you, whether he does or not, it doesn’t change anything. I love you, and we want to be together. That’s all that matters.”Celia pouted and stayed silent for a moment.“So, do you have any siblings?” she asked.“They are dead,” Rafael replied quietly.“Jeez! Sorry about that, I shouldn’t have brought it up.”He smiled coldly. “It’s fine.”There was an awkward silence for about three minutes before Celia finally spoke.“Do you have any questions about Lorenzo?”“No.”“Why not?”“B
