Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alpha's Second-chance Mate : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Renna's POVKayden raked his fingers through his hair nonchalantly, like his death threats was as normal as every other thing was. His eyes continued to trail each and every of my movement. Piercing, excruciating and calculating. I'd almost died from the dread coursing through me, but my father remained unwavering, the only hint of fear on his face was his hesitation."Let the others go first, this is between you and I." Father roared out at Kayden who'd had our pack held hidden in the woods. Even my father's Beta was nowhere to be found at this point.Compared to other packs, ours was small and we barely managed to reach one-tenth of a normal pack, the Crescent-Moon pack was weak, and I could already tell that confronting an alpha like Kayden was only going to put us at a loss. He halted for a millisecond, his gaze softened when they met mine and for a moment, I thought he was going to change his mind and let my father live.”"Fine,” he muttered like he could already read my mind.

Renna's POV"I do not take promises lightly, Little Wolf. So I ask again; are you prepared to do anything I ask of you?” Kayden's lips twisted into a lopsided grin at my words and I could almost tell that he had me right where he wanted me; at his mercy. He enjoyed my plight a little too much and I knew that I had willed myself over to him in a moment of desperation. My skin tingled where he held me as our bond worked its way around us. I panted, trying to figure out how I'd just gotten my first shift in front of him. “Anything,” I shuddered. “As long as you promise to let my pack, and my father live.”As much as I hated Leia and her mother, I couldn't watch them die. No, not like this.I swallowed hard as his gaze held mine and a ghost of a smile formed on his lips. I blinked, lowering my gaze from his, when fright coursed its way through me. Was I too impulsive to have promised to do anything for the freedom of my people and my family? Would things have been better if I wasn’t st

Kayden’s POVI chuckled as I walked out of the room that I'd put Renna in. Hell, it was already hard enough to have her here in my pack, and not desire to hold her in my arms. She’d agreed to leave with me, at first, but I’d seen that moment as the right time to get my revenge. Hell, I was so close to having her father’s head in my hands like I’d promised my mother as she took her last, dying breath.Clenching my fists in annoyance, images of my mother’s face as she choked on her blood when she reminded me that the Crescent Moon was not our ally, flashed through my mind. My wolf, Czar leaped out from the shadows, his voice undulating as his thoughts echoed in my head.“When are you going to tell her?” Czar growled.“Tell her what?” I snapped.“That her father was responsible for the assassins that snuck into our pack ten years go, poisoning our waters and our people. Or that you plan to use her blood as cure, rather than that lie you told her about mating and bearing a child? Or that

Renna’s POVI sat down in the room Kayden had me in.I’d curled up for a while, rethinking my actions that had led me right here. Would things had been different if I’d refused to go with him when he’d walked into the room my father had me cahined in like a prisoner, draining my blood for that my lech of a sister? But on second thoughts, this had to be a good thing for me? wasn’t it? Bringing me here was against my will, but asides collaring me on my pack grounds, he hadn’t thrown me into some dungeons, or had me locked up.I could still tel that he left the door unlocked the moment he walked out of the room. Yes, he’d openly declared his intentions to have me as his Luna and breeder, but that was much better than the humiliation torture I’d had to endure in the hands of my step-mother. Somehow, I’d fallen asleep the very minute my back hit the bed. Thoughts of my father weighed heavily on my mind, and I couldn’t tell if he kept them alive or not and needed to discuss the safety of m

Kayden's POV.“Fuck,”I cursed when she stared at me with that needy look in her eyes. Few minutes ago, our bond suddenly flared to life, calling to me. Then I'd found her standing in that lake, wearing that scent on her, and looking so fucking beautiful, I just couldn't resist.I let go of her, storming out of the lake as fast as I could, making my way back to the pack house. It was so hard to stay away from her. I hated that look on her eyes, that look of fear when she stared at me at first. She'd already thought that whatever I felt for her were all lies but I wasn’t ready to make her believe me, neither was I going to tell her the truth. It was already too late for that. Somehow, Renna’s fears excited me. Her desire to run away from me only spurred me on the more. My wolf and I had conjured up ways in which we would have her pinned underneath us, ways to please her, to worship her, to make her scream out our name in the throes of passion. But that scent on her was unmistakable.
