I leaned against the wall, slid down the cold surface, and curled up in a ball as the scorching water burned my skin. I’ve been in this position for about an hour now. The water became ice cold, numbing my body and pruning my skin. I finally stood up, turned the water off, and got out of the shower. When Romano told me that Aces surgery was a success and that he was going to be okay, I wanted to go to him, to be the first person that he saw when he opened his eyes, to hold and kiss him endlessly and to never leave his side.
