Lahat ng Kabanata ng Luna’s Second Chance : Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

Vera's POVAm I still hurt from Phil's betrayal? Not anymore. It's only proper to move on like he has.Honestly, I couldn't deny the fact that this whole situation sucked. I thought I was over him since I have been in this pack the past few weeks. I thought things had changed for me.It felt like I had forgotten all about Phil and whatever we used to be. But just at that dinner table when Andrew told me about Lucy's coronation, the deserted feeling rushed back within me, prompting me to cry the whole night. Then I braced myself the next morning and told Andrew that I would be attending the coronation party with him, as his plus one.Everything about my decision made no sense to Andrew or to anyone else, he practically tried to convince me to change my mind, whereas I was bent on going anyway. Was I making this decision to get back at Phil? No. There was no point in that. Going to the party as Andrew's plus one was only a scheme to make Phil see that I moved on too, and I wasn't just m

Vera's POVThe chill weather outside the pack hall bit into my skin. I stood somewhere by the garden, rather than running back inside away from the cold. I watched the moon slowly move behind the clouds. I'd rather not see the coronation going on.I'd admit, the whole preparation would break me if I sat and watched it unfold. I sighed, trying not to shed a tear, knowing that my mission here was accomplished. Or was it?With the little Andrew told me about his conversation with Phil, I'd say Phil was vexed that I made an appearance at his party, and at the same time—guilty for letting me go. But that doesn't change the fact that I was never his priority as his Luna or someone he had claimed to love and cherish. The cool breeze blew up to where I stood, playing with the ends of my hair as I hugged myself for warmth.“Ma'am Vera." A voice called out behind me. I spun around and there stood a familiar man in a guard uniform, with red hair, and a casual smile.“Jacob.""You remember me,” h

Vera's POVI’ve never seen anyone so hard on themselves as Alpha Andrew. His self-criticism isn’t the sort of open emotion he frequently displayed, but I was certain he secretly hated himself every day.I feel the need to help him. But I can’t—unless I become literate in the matter of this curse he carries and calls a tool for destruction. As soon as we arrived at Bluepearls Castle, I had a light dinner with Andrew and freshened up. Afterwards, I went to the library—it’s the only place I could seek knowledge about this curse.I had no name to describe it. Andrew never gave it one either. The only knowledge I had came from what he’d told me, and what I saw that day the Mnemos attacked.A two-headed creature with a savage, brutal nature—I remember it vividly. His fangs tore through the Mnemos’ flesh. A dreadful sight.“Arghh,” I groaned in frustration as I closed a book and shoved it back on the shelf. It was the tenth book—and still, nothing. No images of a similar beast, no written ac

Andrew's POVMy fists hammered against the heavy bag in front of me. Sweat clung to my skin, dripping down my face. I didn't care. My fists were relentless—driven by anger and the kind of frustration that doesn't go away with words.Somehow, after the night on the balcony, Vera has not said a word to me. I didn't blame her. It was all my fault. And I messed up. However, whatever I had said to her was for the best.“You should apologize,” Rick said behind me. He strides forward after noticing I had ignored him.Apologize. I had no idea how to even begin. How do you say sorry when the truth you told still feels right?I kept punching.Rick sighed, hands on his hips. He looked frustrated. Without warning, he yanked the heavy bag away from an approaching mid-punch, letting my fist swing in empty air.“You'd rather punch your way through your emotions than talk about them.”I gave him a thin smile, breathing raggedly. "Glad you know so much about me. Now, put it back.”Rick refused. He hel

Lucy's POVEvery time I sensed someone was a threat to my mission. I always made sure they stopped existing, one way or another. They stopped living and whatever they learnt about my plans died alongside them. I have always made sure of that. No one was going to get in the way of my plans. But then, some people are just hard to kill. They're like flies—pestering damn flies, hard to smash them to death or poison them to death—whatever it took to kill a pest. And this threat was no other person than my damn bodyguard, Jacob. Gods, I hated his presence. As the pack's Luna, I had duties to perform, and for every single duty, he stood somewhere around, pretending to guard me, when I knew what he was really after. To see my downfall.I won't deny it, I was a bit insecure with him around after he told Phil about my conversation with physician Ross. Phil had come to ask me about it, and God helped me. I forged a believable lie on the spot. I didn't bother about Phil asking Ross if what I had
