Phil's POV

The moment my eyes met hers, it felt like everything around me paused. As our eyes lurked, a familiar feeling braced me, a mix of tension and anxiety. She looked different—too different from the last time I saw her.

Well dressed, more beautiful than before. Then she looked away as though I were an unfamiliar face, turning instead to the man beside her.

And that's when I took proper notice of Alpha Andrew.

What the hell was he thinking? Bringing Vera here like she still belonged to my pack. My hands curled into fists and I couldn't stop myself from approaching their table even when I knew it'd get the guests’ attention.

A hand held me.

I had forgotten my beta was close by. Not long ago we were discussing before Vera caught all my attention.

“Alpha, you can't go there." He spoke quietly, glancing behind cautiously, then turning back to me. “People might talk. Let me go instead."He volunteered.

Of course, he understood that approaching my former Luna might bring some consequen

Vera's POVThe ride to Bluepearls was silent. And I sat there, next to Andrew, blaming myself for going to that party. I shouldn't have gone. I should have stayed in this pack and let Phil think whatever he wanted.“We've arrived." Andrew's soft voice drew me out of my thoughts. I immediately took notice of our surroundings, and indeed, we've arrived.I turned towards Andrew, I knew he had a lot to say, but he wouldn't.I began the conversation instead. “I'm sorry about today. I should have listened to you. I shouldn't have gone to the party.”Andrew turned away for a moment and pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket. He leaned towards me, occupying the space between us as he took my chin in one hand and cleaned my lips gently with the other.I'd almost forgotten I had an injury on my lip until the pain stung. I winced as he kept wiping my bottom lip.“Sorry." He muttered. My gaze lingered on his eyes, I didn't know how to describe the look in those eyes. There was a bit of tendern

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 00093

Vera's POVThe chill weather outside the pack hall bit into my skin. I stood somewhere by the garden, rather than running back inside away from the cold. I watched the moon slowly move behind the clouds. I'd rather not see the coronation going on.I'd admit, the whole preparation would break me if I sat and watched it unfold. I sighed, trying not to shed a tear, knowing that my mission here was accomplished. Or was it?With the little Andrew told me about his conversation with Phil, I'd say Phil was vexed that I made an appearance at his party, and at the same time—guilty for letting me go. But that doesn't change the fact that I was never his priority as his Luna or someone he had claimed to love and cherish. The cool breeze blew up to where I stood, playing with the ends of my hair as I hugged myself for warmth.“Ma'am Vera." A voice called out behind me. I spun around and there stood a familiar man in a guard uniform, with red hair, and a casual smile.“Jacob.""You remember me,” h

Vera's POVAm I still hurt from Phil's betrayal? Not anymore. It's only proper to move on like he has.Honestly, I couldn't deny the fact that this whole situation sucked. I thought I was over him since I have been in this pack the past few weeks. I thought things had changed for me.It felt like I had forgotten all about Phil and whatever we used to be. But just at that dinner table when Andrew told me about Lucy's coronation, the deserted feeling rushed back within me, prompting me to cry the whole night. Then I braced myself the next morning and told Andrew that I would be attending the coronation party with him, as his plus one.Everything about my decision made no sense to Andrew or to anyone else, he practically tried to convince me to change my mind, whereas I was bent on going anyway. Was I making this decision to get back at Phil? No. There was no point in that. Going to the party as Andrew's plus one was only a scheme to make Phil see that I moved on too, and I wasn't just m

Vera's POVFor three hours straight, I didn't expect sparring with Alpha Andrew to be that long, and what I'd call a tug of war. It was different from the last time—differently fun. Dinner was served and Andrew practically begged me to come eat with him. I'd prefer to eat in the bedroom. But here I was, I just couldn't say no to him. He really does know how to convince one with those piercing kind eyes.I jerked my gaze up to stare into those eyes but he was quite focused on slicing his grilled chicken and the only thing I could stare at was his dark hair. My muscles are tense and pulling due to some flip-back falls, inexperienced kicks, and punches I had thrown at Andrew earlier. The word inexperienced sounded a bit off. Not trying to flatter myself, but I was getting better at this combat thing and I knew it'd come in handy someday. Maybe during the upcoming war—a part of me wished the war would never push through, so I wouldn't see anyone I care about die.Someone like Phil, maybe

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 00089

Andrew's POVThe nerve of him to ask about the same woman he treated like a criminal, like trash. My body vibrated with so much rage as I drove back to my pack, and before I could notice that I had been digging my own claws into my palms, I had already done a bit of damage. Tiny glimpses of blood flowed on the fleshy surface.Case closed; Alpha Phil was, without a doubt, an arse. He could do me the favour of going ahead being it since it's a good thing on my own end. As the driver pulled over at the front yard, I took out a handkerchief from my pocket and began to wipe off the traces of blood on my palm.I walked into the living room. “Back so early?" I lifted my gaze to see Rick who approached me, his gaze focused on my palm as I wiped it off with the handkerchief. “Yeah. And the meeting, huge bullshit."I replied without giving him any eye contact, my focus still on my bleeding palms.Rick rushed towards me and with so much urgency, he grabbed my arm. His eyes widened and mine dawned
