Myra smiled as she walked into the hallway and the cherry blossoms transitioned to red roses. Bouquets and bouquets of red roses sat on every staircase. She leaned down to smell one, and then felt him behind her. She had not heard his footsteps, but the magnetic current between them had come on like a light switch, zapping her spine, the resulting spark traveling round her body.She did not turn back, but continued slowly up the staircase, running her hand on the polished wood of the banister. She felt him following noiselessly behind her and when she got to the top of the stairs, his hand wove around her waist from behind, pulling her back into himself.Her eyes closed as she leaned her head to the side. He felt warm, her back against his chest like this, his hand resting on her bare skin exposed by the tastefully large cut on her dress, on the left side of her belly.She felt his nose on her neck, running smoothly, sniffing and her lips parted, air escaping her lungs in a rush.
