LIAM'S POV Thanks to my wife of barely two weeks, I've been on edge for days. She has been challenging me at every turn, and now I can't help but look at my phone every minute when I'm at work. I keep thinking that Ali could call at any minute now and tell me that she has pulled another stunt. Reid sighs for the nth time this morning alone as he watches me watch my phone like a hawk. "Boss, I say this with the utmost respect, but I think you're distracted by your wife." I almost snap at him to mind his business, but I realize that he was right. I am distracted by my wife, though I doubt she considers herself my wife, considering the number of times she has tried to run away from me. "I don't know what I should do to get her to stay. She's not even trying to give me a chance." I say, desperation lacing my tone. I was truly at my wit's end if I was letting this affect me at work. "Have you tried to talk to her?" "It always ends in argument." I shake my head. There's no reasoni

AMY'S POV Grace's words cut deeper than I know she intended, but it didn't make it any easier. I was afraid I was getting into the same situation that I just ran from with my mother. Well, I didn't run from her, Liam brought me from her.I thought long and hard about what I should do next. Like my husband had gracefully pointed out, I had no one I could turn to. Not family, and I would only end up being a burden to Maddy. The thought of her confused and hurt by where I might be made me sad. She might even think I skipped town, and I prayed to the goddess that she wouldn't think so. She knew me better than that. I fell asleep after a long time turning and tossing in bed, but I still didn't have an answer. If anything, I was even more confused than before. The next morning, Xiao was by my bed, laying out the tray of food."Good morning, Luna." She said when she looked up."Xiao." She helped me freshen up, and I found that I could now stand and walk on my own without feeling dizzy. Of

AMY'S POV I was shivering from so much need that I thought I'd die if he didn't fill me up right now. His c*ck was almost in when he stopped. "There's something else, isn't it? You were using a cane when I saw you in that godawful house." Whatever pleasure I had been feeling beforehand disappeared, and I found myself back on the bed, on top of him. I tried to get off of him, but his big hands held me stubbornly on top of him. "Leave me alone, Liam." ”Answer me, Amy. I don't want you to keep things from me. I'm your husband and your Alpha, so you need to understand that hard conversations like these are necessary." "Well, you're not my husband in the real sense of the word, so yeah..." Why won't he let me go? That comment must have hurt, seeing as the whole point of this trip, according to him, is to work on us. He flipped us over, so I'm now trapped underneath him with his hood firmly wedged in between my thighs. "Bella Mia, I'm trying to make this real, don't you see? I l

LIAM'S POV She woke up a little bit later to freshen up while I touched base with Reid to see how it was going. I can't remember ever being without work for four days straight. This woman was making me do things I would originally not even think about. The scariest part was that she was not even making me do them. I was making all these irrational decisions by myself. It made me nervous. She has so much power over me that I don't even know when it happened. She came out of the bathroom in a fresh set of sweats. She looked cuddly and relaxed but not truly relaxed. She looked scared. Before I could even say anything, she climbed up in the bed and came up to my side. I instantly felt some of my anxiety melt away. She just has that effect on me.I placed my MacBook aside so I could focus all my attention on her. I kissed her forehead and pulled her closer. "Do you feel better now?""You're not mad?""Why would I be?""Because I killed my uncle.""You say that as if you deliberately did

AMY'S POV The next morning was really weird. I don't know what specifically made me feel that way, but I could feel Liam becoming more distant. For the four days we've spent together, I've rarely seen him on his phone, but here he was, typing away like something was eating away at him."Is something going on?" He was even on his phone at breakfast. It was really weird. Breakfast was the time he paid the most attention to me. He would nag and nag until I finished everything Ella kept plying me with. Yet, here he was, barely eating."Why do you say that?" He hadn't even looked up at me."You've been on your phone all morning!" I realized that my tone came out snappier than I intended because his head jerked up. That got him to look up at me with a guilty smile on his face."I'm sorry, baby." He dropped his phone, but I was no fool. His attention was still on the phone. He kept glancing at the phone. The only thing that gave me any sort of consolation was that I was sure it wasn't me he
