Damon’s POV After I dropped Mara off at the safe house, she left in a hurry. She was quick to find her way to the bus station. I didn’t get off my bike. Didn’t turn off the ignition. Didn't move. The bike still hummed under me, and my hands remained on the handlebars, the faint heat of her still lingering on my body as she held me tightly on the ride back. I could still smell her… clean sweat, sun bathed skin, I was sure I had some of her sweat on my jacket. Under it all, there was that hidden pull. The call of my fated mate. Kai growled low in my mind. “She felt it too this time.” “No,” I told him silently. “She just flinched.
