Iris's POV“Because you might hate me,” I admitted, as more tears ran down my face.“That’s not possible,” Rowan said firmly. “There is nothing you could tell me that would make me stop loving you. Nothing at all.”I wanted to believe him. I wanted to trust him so badly, but the fear was overwhelming.I took a shaky breath, trying to gather the words. “The nightmare,” I whispered. “It started out the same as others with the forest, and the person I thought was you.”Rowan nodded, looking very patient as he waited for me to continue.“But this time it was worse,” I said, my voice cracking. “This time, I couldn’t wake up. I was trapped in the dream. And when Eric kissed me, I… I stopped fighting.”Rowan’s grip on me tightened slightly, but he didn’t interrupt.“My body relaxed,” I continued, finding it harder to speak more. “The kiss started to feel good. I started to enjoy it. I leaned into it. And then…”I paused, sobbing as I tried to get the next words out.“Then I woke up,” I said.
