《Tangled by lies 》全部章節：第 11 章 - 第 20 章

~10~Chiara After a few minutes of refreshing, I was on my way back to the hall, and then my grip on the glass door halted. Antonio couldn't care if I was gone for the rest of the night. I already played my part after all. Taking a full turn, I went to fetch my coat before I headed to the washroom.Sounds of someone sobbing filled the room. Frowning, I went on with my business. I stood before the sink after finishing, tapped the faucet, and washed my hands. "It should be fine, none of them would miss me." I said to my reflection in the mirror. The cries crawled under my skin, reminding me of the nights I was trying so hard not to remember. I was still dealing with my horse’s cruel death.Fisting my hands, and eyes shut. I should leave. "Oh, just shut up already! You are too fucking loud!" Nope, couldn't do it."I—uh—I'm sorry." An innocent voice came, too soft for this ruthless world. "I think I messed up my dress with blood. I—I don't know what to do, and I don't have my phone with

~12~Chiara He removed his hand and drank from my glass instead. “Hey, that was mine,” I said in a low voice. “It’s alright, Chichi. I don’t mind sharing a glass with you.” He uttered.I ignored the fact that he called me by my nickname and shot Xander a glare because he invited this mess in human form to our table while he refilled my glass. My frustration was mostly because I was overwhelmed. I wasn’t prepared for this side of him.Hell, I didn’t even know it existed. Who was this man? All I knew was a grumpy rich ass man. This uncivilized one was worse than the letter.“So, are you two a thing?” There was no hint of humor in his voice when he asked.“No—”“Yes.” I interrupted Xander.Carmelo’s dark orbs fell on me again. I could feel the heat leaving them as he pinned me down with his gaze, as though I had said something that he didn’t like.He took the glass from my hand again and chugged it down before handing it back empty, wiping his mouth roughly with the back of his palm. My

~14~Chiara The cruise was lively as I roamed around, trying to find my target. There were three decks in total. Each part had its own kind of entertainment. The top deck was the peak of them all. I caught a glimpse of a guy held upside down by two other people on a keg stand. Karaoke battles that made my ears want to curl. Some people were not meant to sing. I included.I wandered further outside to the open-air deck. There was a live DJ and a dance floor where several people were dancing as though it were a nightclub. The energy was high and contagious. Some were in a swimming pool playing throwing balls like kids and other games. It was quite satisfying to see all those people dressed up in a tropical theme.I walked past people who were having a dance-off, almost breaking their spines for the prize. It was entertaining as well as painful to watch. Yup, a beer will do. So, I trekked to the open bar and ordered one, and then got downstairs and went to stand by the railing, where th

~16~Chiara “Actually, somebody called Xander sent me here. I’m Alex.” He stretched his hand out to me. Iscanned the man from the head to the toe. Why would Xander send him for such an important mission? He was as good as dead after this party!Keeping my questions aside. “Hey Alex, I’m not interested in knowing you. Just make sure we win. Okay?” He stepped back, his eyes weary of me. “Ye—yes.” Ugh, I must’ve done it again, that thing with my eyes. It wasn’t my fault.“The first competition will be partner push-ups! You are required to do ten push-ups with your partner on your back. Now let’s see if you have made the right choice picking the partner that you have.” Said the DJ.Loud gasps erupted. Others gave up before even trying after looking at their partners. I looked at Alex and was glad he was very much capable of carrying it out. “I got this, don’t worry.” He uttered. “Who said I was?” I rolled my eyes.Only a few couples remained on the floor.“Now gather up and let’s get st

~18~Chiara "How does it feel to get treated like that?" He asked, pacing the room with deliberate and malevolent steps. A sinister glare as he looked at me, and no emotion was traced in his tone."What are you talking about?" I gripped the sheets."Well, I was sent to be here for you, but then I changed my mind. You were treating me like a little pussy out there, so I thought... how about I show you what I can do?" He said."You—were—paid to be here." I was struggling to breathe. Not again, please!"Exactly. I was paid to help you carry out your stupid little mission, and not to be treated like a peasant. You dirty whore!" he shouted at me. "The medicine in your drink was not supposed to work so fast. I guess I overdosed." He shrugged, "But then, you helped me out by drowning yourself."I opened my mouth to shout. "Uh-Uh, don't even waste the little energy that you have left on you. Nobody would hear you. Nobody will come here. Everybody is busy partying out there. Isn't that just
