Lahat ng Kabanata ng One Night's Mistake: Claimed by my Boyfriend's Brother.: Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

I sleep and dream of a sizable, neat-looking house, the lawn perfectly mowed and the hedges neat and tidy. There’s a walkway to the front door, and when I open it, there I am, seated on a couch in the living room, with something in my arms…Something, and someone.I watch, suspended in a trance as the woman sitting on the couch, me, talks silly syllables at the baby swaddled in her arm.I look at the bright shine in my eyes as I hear the simple cooing of the being in my hands, the small arms rising up towards my face and batting tendrils of my hair to the side as they fight to grab something that’s not there. The emotion of the scene begins to slowly well up in me, and at the moment it becomes strongest, I find myself in the body of the woman sitting on the couch, desperate to look into the face of the bundle in my arms. But like my body has a mind of its own, I’m staring at the door. The same door I was standing at a moment ago, except I’m no longer standing there anymore, and like I

“Well, it’s certainly not a penthouse….”Estel and I are standing in front of a massive building that stands several stories tall. On it, printed in bold calligraphy letters are the words, “STORM APARTMENTS.”It totally escaped my mind that Storm Group of Companies also has a thriving real estate sector, and Christian has buildings like this all over town.“This is better than a penthouse, Lyra. People can’t even get a letting in Storm apartment buildings, they sell out faster than water.”I don’t know what to say because the same thing is running through my head.STORM APARTMENTS are known for being so high in demand. Not only are they affordable, but the apartments in any STORM APARTMENT building are serviced and unique. Each and every apartment has intentionality put behind its design and structure. They also aren’t incredibly overpriced like most luxury apartments or lettings in the city, and as such they have the one thing every person in their right mind would want, a sustainable

“You’re cooking for him.”Estel has her teeth in a drumstick and her eyes fixed on me as she asks that question. I nod and wait for the question I’ve been expecting all day to come.In the span of a day, I’ve moved out of my old apartment, I’m living in a much better condition, and now I’m cooking for a man whose child I’m carrying.“Are you going to tell him about the baby over dinner?”It’s like a weight presses on my chest the minute I hear the words, but outside I know I barely flinch.I barely take my mind off what I’m doing in preparation for dinner, and Estel in her straightforward way tells me what I don’t want to hear.“Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away, Lyra. I think that’s how you got pregnant in the first place.”Something about that breaks a laugh out of me, and when I glance at Estel she’s chuckling too at her own joke.Silence settles between us again, and this time I know it’s my turn to talk. She’s right, I can’t ignore my problems forever.Ignoring the reper

My heart is in a vice-like grip even as I stand at the stairs and listen in on the conversation Christian and Estel are having.I almost lose my mind when Estel dashes towards the door at the mention of the man named Ivan, but I let out a breath of relief when I see I’m still out of her line of sight.I hear her last statement before she takes her final exit, and a shiver runs down my spine involuntarily, because Christian did that.Christian got Estel to dash out like her dress was on fire and only the six hours of free time with Ivan would be able to extinguish it.Alongside making me scared, it also makes me marvel, because to get Estel to act like that would have to take some serious bargaining skills, and what’s bargaining to a man like Christian Storm?I make my way down the stairs, and this time there’s a bit more confidence in my stride, because I’m ready. I know I am.I invited the man who got me an apartment for dinner in the apartment he got for me, and while the old Lyra w

”Are you worried about being my secretary?”I can’t lie that I’m not, because I think he would know, but admitting to my fear also leaves me with a feeling in the pit of my stomach that feels unbecoming, so I admit, but to the fear, “I’m worried about being adequate as your secretary, yes. It sounds like important work, and I wouldn’t want to make things harder for you by being in that position.”Christian reaches across the couch and gathers me into his arms as he asks, “Do you want to know why I chose to send you the employment offer after not sending out any of that nature for almost half a year now?”Christian’s words are warm, and it sounds like he’s about to reassure me right now. A part of me craves that reassurance like a thirsty deer craves a babbling brook.I want him to tell me it’ll be okay and that I’ll be great at my first day of work, but Christian’s words are different from what I expect when he speaks, “I chose you as my secretary because I trust my judgment. It’s nev
