Doing nothing quickly became boring, leading me to lie down on the bed. Cassian’s perfume was even stronger in the sheets, suggesting he slept in that room far more than it appeared. I stretched my hand toward the pillow, trying to guess which side of the bed he slept on, or if he was the type to sprawl across the middle. “A man that size, I doubt he only takes up half the bed.” A yawn overtook me, my eyes growing heavy as my body seemed to relax more, enveloped by that exotic, refreshing scent. I grabbed a pillow, hugged it, and let the sleep that consumed me take over. The sound of running water woke me. It was like a wild waterfall cascading off a cliff. I lifted my head, looking around to figure out where the sound was coming from. I rubbed my eyes, unaware of the time, and stood up slowly, stretching my arms overhead. I glanced at the bathroom, seeing the light on, and realized the water sound was coming from there. “I don’t remember turning on the shower.”
