Jett lay in the coffin. The dark wood looked too heavy, too final. Like we were giving up before even trying. His skin was pale against the color of the wood, his eyes still remained closed as he laid inside. I couldn’t stop staring at his chest, waiting for it to rise. He wasn't dead, he was just sleeping. Kael stood stiff beside him, fists clenched, jaw locked. Talon was already trying, whispering spells from the books he had. His hands glowed faintly, but nothing happened.
