Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Dragon King's Betrothed : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

I slowly sat up on the bed, taking great care to unwrap Ramon's beefy arms from around my waist. Glancing around, I stared at his sleeping form. His chest rose and fell, and his nose flared at intervals. All of this happening without a single sound of snoring. It baffled me how he did it. Most men, especially large ones, were known to snore. Then again, he was more than a mere man. My gaze focused on his lips, and the corner of mine curled upwards for a split second. Our small argument earlier had ended in nothing more than a make-out, but the memories of it made my stomach dance for a reason unknown. As much as I admired the fact that he had kept his hands to himself, a different side of me wished he didn't. Maybe it was how powerful his kiss was. Having reptilian traits, I expected it to be cold and slippery. But instead it was always warm and somewhat... tantalizing. God, I needed therapy.A small red blink drew my attention to the red jewel, and I shut my eyes. In life, we hav

~RAMON~I stood still and watched as my throne room was in flames. My soldiers and guards ran about like mad dogs, trying to get rid of the flames. However, the flames were no cause of worry to my heart. Not because they could not be removed from sight.But because I was the one responsible.I had awoken from my slumber and witnessed a bed devoid of my mate. It had been no cause of concern at first, until the fiery beast within roared a warning to me. A warning not to be ignored. The flames it sent to my heart were a message.My precious Irene was gone.And when I set my eyes upon the table, so was the jewel.I refused to believe my eyes. Like a madman, I searched. The royal bath, the courtroom, the kitchen, and even the dungeons. And when I reached the throne room, the truth settled into my soul. And so the flames of wrath departed from my body. Perhaps a display of my sorrow and anger would make the stars intervene and explain how my mate, who was returned to me by them, would va

~RAMON~"Brother, eventually you would have to eat."I looked up from my plate to Rothrar's concerned gaze across from me. He had gone through half of his meal, with Silvira taking a quarter of hers."I am not hungry." I pushed the plate a few inches away."Even if you want to lie to all of us and yourself, your dragon disagrees. Eventually, it will rebel because of the hunger."The growl of my inner beast confirmed his words. As much as I tried to resist the delightful smell of the food, the inner flames within my body were trying to make me do otherwise. This was one of the situations where controlling my dragon was a difficult task. Hunger."Brother, you cannot continue to live like this." Rothrar shook his head. "Denying yourself food? You are doing more harm than good. Caliborn needs its king at the moment, and it would not be pleasant if they learned about your state. Eat something and have faith that Irun will return."I shifted my gaze from him to Sylvira. She avoided my eye

"Gosh, I can't believe I abandoned this!" I couldn't even hear my own voice, thanks to my stuffed cheeks.   Moments earlier, my stomach had been a source of irritation during the short and agonizing wait for the food to arrive. It didn't help that Ramon had been quiet, even more so than when he was in the desert. Awkward staring contest between us, plus the hunger soldiers that rebelled within my belly, was a terrible combination. I was finally rescued by the delicious scent preceding the entrance of the cooks. I had barely waited for them to set it down before I dug in. Thankfully, Ramon made no comment as he ate along.    But the silence was still weird.   "Okay, this is not working." I dabbed my lips with a clean piece of cloth, lifting my gaze to Ramon. "What exactly is going on?"   "Is so

                                      ~~~~~~     My head angled to the side in a quizzical manner. Not because I was experiencing one of those weird dreams.    But because of what was in front of me.    A cave. It was almost similar to one of those that was within the crater where I had gone for the dragon bones excavation. However, this cave looked like someone hired the service of an architect to work on it. At the upper left and right sides were what looked like silver stones embedded within. They sparkled under the rays of the moonlight. At the center were strange red patterns. On closer look, I discovered those were words written in an unfamiliar language.   "What the hell is this supp
