Amelia’s POV By Monday morning, I was back in my office, trying to focus. The weekend had gone by in a blur, and though I’d tried to distract myself with work, and that man kept crossing my mind. I couldn't just ignore the fact that he isn't really happy inside. “Focus, Amelia,” I muttered under my breath, scrolling through the files then to my laptop on my desk. I already had two back-to-back meetings with department heads this morning, and finally, finally I had ten minutes to breathe. I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes for just a second. Knock.
