Logan’s POV

I sat at my desk, fingers drumming against the table, my mind racing.

Too much was happening already. Jana showing up out of nowhere, Jake trying to get back to Amelia, and Amelia…

I exhaled sharply.

Amelia.

I had to stop thinking about her like that.

“Focus, Wills,” I muttered to myself, leaning back in the chair.

I picked up my phone and dialed Zach. He answered on the second ring, his tone casual.

“Yes, Logan,” he said.

“I need you to keep an eye on Jana,” I told him, no hesitation in my voice. “She’s up to something. I want to know every move she makes, where she goes, who she meets, and what she talks about with them.”

“On it,” Zach replied. “ I'll have someone watching her,” Zach replied.

“Alright,” I said without hesitation. “I don’t care if she goes to a coffee shop, I want to know who she talks to and what’s said. She's getting on my nerves.”

“Got it. Anything else?”

“Yeah,” I said after a moment’s pause. “If she tries to go to Amelia's Company again, I want to kn

Logan’s POV I leaned against the sofa armrest, scrolling through some last-minute work emails while Mom sat cross-legged on the couch with her tablet, shopping for dresses online. “Logan,” she said suddenly, holding the screen up as if I could magically see it from across the room. “What do you think of this one? Be honest.” I looked up. It was some floral blue maxi dress with frills at the bottom. Not exactly my taste. I raised a brow. “I’m not sure I’m the right person to ask, Mom. It’s a dress.” She made a dramatic sigh. “You’re impossible.” Then, without even waiting for my opinion, she nodded to herself. “Actually, no. This one is better.” She tapped the screen decisively. I chuckled. “You ask for my opinion and still go with your choice. Why even bother?” She ignored me, eyes still on the screen. “Anyway, I’m thinking of going on a trip to Africa.” I paused mid-scroll. “Africa?” “Yes.” Her tone was light, but she didn’t look up from her tablet. “There are at least three

Amelia’s POV By Monday morning, I was back in my office, trying to focus. The weekend had gone by in a blur, and though I’d tried to distract myself with work, and that man kept crossing my mind. I couldn't just ignore the fact that he isn't really happy inside. “Focus, Amelia,” I muttered under my breath, scrolling through the files then to my laptop on my desk. I already had two back-to-back meetings with department heads this morning, and finally, finally I had ten minutes to breathe. I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes for just a second. Knock. Knock. The sound made me jump slightly. “Yes?” I called. The door opened, and Cathy, my assistant, poked her head in. “Ma’am, someone’s here to see you.” I groaned. “Cathy, if it’s Jake, tell him I’m busy. No, tell him I’m unavailable for the entire week. Anyone else, you can let them in.” Cathy gave me a small, amused smile. “It’s not Mr. Matthews. I’ll let them in.” A few seconds later, the door opened wider, an

Logan’s POVIt’s been two days. Two days since that night at the gala. Two days since I last saw her.But why the hell did it bother me this much?I sat in my office, staring at the same damn report for an hour without reading a single word. My pen was in my hand, but I hadn’t written anything. Zach was across from me, tapping on his laptop, probably noticing how distracted I was, but not saying anything.I told myself it was just the usual stress, you know business stress. I also told myself it was just because of the blogs still running that stupid headline about Amelia and Jake. I told myself it wasn’t because I missed her.But I think I do miss her.I miss her.The way she looked at me when she smiled. The way her voice softened when she said my name.I cursed under my breath and tossed the pen across the desk.“Wow. Are you down that bad?” Zach asked, raising an eyebrow.“Shut up,” I muttered, leaning back in my chair. “I just… I can’t seem to focus today.”“You’ve been like th

“Hear me out, at least!” Jake’s voice was desperate, his hand reaching out to grab mine as I was about to get into the car. His touch felt cold, wrong and like something I never wanted to feel again. “Why are you treating me like this? You once loved me, Amelia!” he said, his voice cracking, his eyes wide like he still couldn’t believe I had moved on. I stopped and looked at him, the words stinging, not because they were true, but because of how empty they felt to me now. “Exactly, Jake. I once did.” My voice was sharp, but calm. “The only reason I haven’t thrown you out of here is because I’m hoping that you’ve found a way to pay me back my money, and you're here to do just that.” He flinched, but his jaw tightened. “Amelia, look, I’ll do anything for you for real. You see that deal… you know the one you wanted to give me, it would change my life. Please, just…..give me one more chance. I’ll never cheat on you again.” I blinked at him, almost laughing. Was he being serious? Did

It was slow, intentional and not rushed. His lips moved against mine with the kind of care that made my stomach flip. I leaned in. I didn’t even think, my body just moved on its own. One hand rested on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath his suit. His hand slid to the back of my neck, keeping me close. It wasn’t wild or messy. It was warm and I felt safe. When we pulled back, I was still leaning into him, my eyes still closed for half a second longer than his. I finally looked up, breathless. He touched his forehead to mine. “I’ve been wanting to do that all night.” I let out a soft breath. “So have I.” We stood there for a while, his forehead still resting gently against mine. Neither of us said anything, we didn’t really have to. And eventually, the night breeze picked up again. My bare arms felt the chill. Logan noticed immediately. Without a word, he shrugged off his blazer and draped it over my shoulders. “Thank you,” I murmured, slipp
