For some reason, Kaelin always walked a few steps ahead of us, while Elian trailed behind like he had nowhere to be. But it wasn’t awkward cause there was no tension between them. If anything, Kaelin kept glancing over his shoulder, checking to see if Elian was still there. It was subtle, but it said a lot.
