****Grace POV*** The darkness was welcoming, there were spots where I went fully into it and times where I was dancing on the edge. While on that edge I could hear things, but I couldn’t bring my body to obey what I wanted it to do before I gave up and went fully into it. This time however, I was closer to that edge and could kinda move my fingers, that was before I heard them. “Oh, little star. You look so pale, the doctors said you’d be just fine!” My mother’s soft and quiet voice came from my left. “It’s all my fault.” Jett’s deep voice was next, filled with sadness and regret. I finally willed my eyes to open, blinking them several times as I adjusted to the bright light of the hospital room. ***Jett POV** We stayed in that house for another day, then packed up our little bunch and left town back to home. Dale had been a bit edgy and more jumpy lately, when I had pointed it out; he has stated Ginger told him she had news to share when he got home. He thought it was bad news, it set him off, he couldn’t even drive cause he didn’t trust himself to do something stupid just to get home faster… I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I think he’ll be just fine. ****Several hours later***** We’d arrived home, and just as I had expected he would.. ***Grace POV*** Me and Violet avoided contact the best we could at the baby shower, I’d helped Macy with the change of activities, serving the food, and Dale handed the presents over to her to open. A little hint of a normal life, a life that we could have had without them doing illegal shit. No one had heard from Ethan, but we knew we had made an enemy out of him, the people who had taken residence in our apartments were notified of the possible danger, but chose to stay… They had no choice. They didn’t have anywhere else to go. They were upset, understandably so, we had told them that they’d be safe here and now we had gone and made and enemy and sacrificed everyone’s safety, including the children that the families had living with them.
