Cara met him at the edge of the camp with a pair of gym shorts she had in her bag. “As much as you have to change back and forth right now, I thought these would be better than your jeans.” She gave him a curious look when she noticed the little girl hiding behind his left leg. She winked at him. “We also have some nice deer steak that we just finished cooking. It smells delicious and it is still nice and warm. We’re going to have to throw it all out if nobody eats it though.” She sighed and put her hands on her hips, pretending not to notice the little girl. “I wonder what we’re going to do with it all. Marcus told me and a few others to meet up here in three days so we have to give it until at least sundown tomorrow. If no one else comes between now and then we move west.
