Once the small pouches were secure and she was sure that the wicks wouldn’t slip or slide free, she peeled the cotton fabric back and trimmed any excess away. When she had completed all eighteen of the little pouches, she took the matches and one of the pouches, then went outside and placed the pouch on the ground.She pulled a match from the box and struck it, then carefully held it out and lit the wick. She moved a safe distance away and watched to see how her little invention would work. The wick caught fire quickly enough and within moments the Vaseline further down the wick caught fire as well. The flame grew stronger when the Vaseline caught aflame and Amanda grinned, pleased that it appeared to be working well.She watched as the entire thing just continued to burn and burn. She waited all through the night and kept her eyes locked on the building. She noted each person that came and went throughout the evening and the following day. She couldn’t act until she was absolutely certain that they were all inside. She didn’t want one single person to walk away from that building alive when she was done.By the following night, she had their faces burned into her memory.
