He pulled up in front of the house, shifting into park, but not moving to exit the vehicle as he turned it off. We’ll stay with the current contract.”“Excellent.”We both turned to get out of the car on our respective sides. “So,” he asked after the double thud of closing our car doors one after the other, “what do you plan to do with your new free time?”I wasn’t sure if he was asking to make polite conversation, or if he wanted to know my whereabouts for some reason. “I was thinking of maybe taking the bus down to the library,” I mused. “Lila, Susie, Emma, and I used to go all the time.”I barely reacted in time to catch Dominic’s car keys as he threw them at me. “Take my car. I’m working from home all day today anyway.”
