Emery The last couple of weeks the weather had turned frigid. Thanksgiving was right around the corner.. and I couldn’t wait to spend it with Vincent and the boys at Vincent’s big house in the country. There would be a huge meal… and many of the gang would come as well. We were sending the list around. The list would be sent to all the ‘upper ranked’ families that would be attending the dinner. It was normally the same each year .. except ever since my parents died .. they were obviously notably absent. Vincent always made the turkey.. he had a huge smoker in the backyard and he and Elijah did the meats… turkey.. ham… and ribs. Emery Today was a special day … you could actually smell the day in the air. I’d always wondered about that.
