TRISTANI paced back and forth across the room, still thinking about Kilian's orders. I had just gotten out of the shower, and even after spending a long time under the cold water thinking about the reason behind his orders, I couldn't come up with an answer. But I knew he was plotting something. He had seemed strange on the phone, asking me to capture the tracker male instead of killing him. If I had understood correctly, that male was after Marius and Jane because of what had happened in the clearing, and he was the one who had kidnapped them. I didn't know how they had escaped, but Jane was safe now.I took a deep breath, remembering the terror I had felt when I saw the blood in the empty room, with no idea what had happened to the two of them. For a moment, just for a moment, I wished I hadn't been so rude to either of them. And Jane's last words to me, telling me she hated me, seemed to cut even deeper after she left.I went to the small bathroom and washed my face. As I stared a

JANEI hugged my knees as I rocked back and forth in the cold cell. How much time had passed since I arrived here?I had been dragged back to Delister and was now in a cell belonging to the Delister pack. Several hours had passed, and no one had come into that damp, foul-smelling cell.I had already figured out a few things. The she-wolf on the bus had seen a wanted notice for me because I had allied myself with black wolves and reported me. Now I was in the custody of the Alpha of Delister.I closed my eyes, and all I could see was Marius's expression as he lay on the floor. How could I have been so foolish...? How could I have done that to him?And for what? Look where I was now...My eyes began to burn, but I refused to let the tears fall.It was my fault. I was an idiot.I couldn't leave my past behind, even when I had Marius by my side.I had remained attached to a father who abandoned me at an orphanage. I left the male who loved me to chase a false illusion of family.Marius wa

Jane’s POVHow many hours had passed? Was it day or night?I had no idea. The cell was so damp, so cold. My body was motionless and curled up, and I was trembling violently. I could no longer feel the pain in my hands, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good sign. I closed my eyes, and my tears warmed my face for a few seconds.I thought of Marius again. Had he recovered? If he was smart, he would abandon me after what I had done.I tried to move. I needed to move. If I continued lying on the floor like that, I could die. Unfortunately, my body wouldn’t obey my mind, and I couldn’t move a single muscle.I opened and closed my eyes. There was an overwhelming weight in my heart, and I could no longer bear it. The longing and regret tore through my heart, making me bleed. For a moment, I had everything. I had the love I had searched for, the love I had wanted so desperately.Mother, forgive me for not finding anything out. Marius, forgive me for abandoning you.I would probably be left to d

MARIUS'S POVWhen I followed Tristan toward the car outside the house, I almost fell several times, but fortunately, I managed to steady myself without the male’s humiliating support.Tristan walked proudly and hurriedly, his long footsteps loud against the wooden floor. When he opened the doors, I realized it was nighttime. How much time had passed? Days, while I lost and regained consciousness? That realization froze my blood so completely that I didn’t even notice I had stopped in place until Tristan’s loud, impatient voice rang out:"What are you doing standing there? Oh, by the goddess, if you can’t stay on your feet, just stay there! I already have the tracker’s address anyway. I’ll bring Jane back."Something stirred inside me, and I used the little strength I had left to propel myself forward and grab him by the shirt."Shut your damn mouth. Jane is my responsibility." And my beloved female, I almost said.Tristan swallowed hard and cleared his throat. Then he grabbed my wrist

TRISTAN'S POVThe male who was the tracker was completely drunk. That much was obvious.I didn't even need to get any closer. The smell of alcohol was everywhere, and the house, which must have once been well-kept, had its furniture overturned, with several broken bottles scattered across the floor completing the scene.Marius was pale now, yet he was using what little strength he had left to shout and lunge at the male on the floor, who couldn't even properly open his eyes.Marius grabbed him by his crumpled shirt and lifted him off the floor. His eyes trembled, and he coughed as Marius shook him like a lunatic."Where is she, you bastard? Where is Jane?" he yelled at the male, but it was all useless. The drunken worm couldn't even figure out where he was, and Marius didn't seem to care.He punched the male several times until blood splattered across his face. Then he stood up like a madman, and when he took the first step to run after Jane, his knees gave out.I didn't think about w
