From the moment Zayden met Sienna, she always followed behind him.She did everything she could to please him. Everyone in Sea City knew that the heiress of the Lewis family had given up her beloved dream of flying just to chase after him. There was no doubt that Sienna loved Zayden completely. But did it even matter if she always loved him or not?To him, Sienna was nothing more than a shield to cover up his feelings for Riley. Why should he care whether she loved him?The only person he cared about was Riley.“Who knows? Maybe Ms. Lewis has finally had enough and will leave.”“That’s impossible!” Zayden snapped just as the driver finished his sentence. His voice was so loud that it startled people nearby.“Sir, what’s wrong?”Zayden’s breaths came fast and shallow. He did not even know why. When he heard that Sienna might leave, it felt like an invisible hand had clamped tightly around his heart. It was suffocating.Would Sienna leave him?Memories of all their days toge

Chapter 12

Riley’s birthday party was grand.Zayden had always spoiled her, and countless people were eager to win her favor.“Riley, Zayden really dotes on you. He’s even letting you use the Scott family villa!”After all, the Scott family villa was a historic estate passed down through generations. Normally, an outsider like Riley would never be allowed to step in here.Riley smiled softly, and her eyes shone in determination.“But where is he? I haven’t seen him.”The party was already halfway through. Zayden sat alone on the couch, and his fingers slid back and forth across his phone screen. His eyes lingered on his chat with Sienna. No new messages. The last message was from two days ago.Was she hurt that badly? Could she not even look at her phone?A wave of frustration rose in Zayden’s chest. Just as he was about to stand up, all the lights in the hall suddenly dimmed.Riley slowly walked upstairs. Her gaze burned as it locked onto him. While Zayden watched in confusion, she

The first thing Zayden did when he woke up was check his phone for the latest news.Yesterday’s events had already made the headlines. In the photos, the walls of his study, covered with photos of Riley, were shown in full view. But he did not care about the gossip.Zayden tapped back into his chat with Sienna.Still nothing... Sienna still had not messaged him. After everything that happened with Riley, there was no way she had not seen it.For some reason, a sense of panic began to rise in his chest. He scrolled through his contacts to search for her number to call her, but an incoming call interrupted him.It was his mother, Margaret Collins. She told him to come back to their place with Riley immediately. At his parents’ place, Zayden’s father, Mason Scott, was furious.“What am I supposed to say to you? You’re supposed to be the heir of this family, and you’ve caused such a scandal! Do you have any idea what people in Sea City are saying about us right now? You’re wo

“She was discharged?”Zayden staggered back a few steps.During the plane crash, she had been injured even worse than Riley. How could she possibly be discharged so soon?“Are you sure she really left the hospital?”“Yes, Ms. Lewis said she didn’t want to stay here any longer, so she requested an early discharge. Maybe she’s already back home. Why don’t you check?”The doctor’s words gave Zayden a little hope.He shot to his feet and rushed out, leaving behind Riley, who was still happily trying on dresses in the fitting room.He drove straight to the villa he shared with Sienna. As his car slowly approached the property, an inexplicable tremble ran through his body. The closer he got, the more violently his heart pounded. He pushed open the car door and hurried inside. The lights were on. The staff were all busy with their duties. They looked shocked to see him. After all, he had not visited this place for nearly a week. With all the rumors about him and Riley, everyone a

Riley’s voice no longer stirred anything in Zayden’s heart. His expression was icy. “I’m almost there. I have a surprise for you.”“Really?” Riley’s voice brightened in excitement. Ever since Sienna disappeared, Zayden had been distant from her. She had not expected him to buy her a gift. When she called earlier, she had been so nervous that she was sweating. She was terrified something might go wrong, and he would not show up. But she felt relieved after hearing this. Her worries had been unnecessary.Zayden still cared about her.All she needed to do was become his wife, and everything would be fine.Thinking of that, Riley smiled happily. Sienna was just a passerby. In Zayden’s heart, she was the only one who truly mattered. After hanging up, Zayden told the driver to head to the hotel hosting the engagement party.Margaret and Mason were already there. Not only were their friends from the industry present, but also many nobles and wealthy families. After all, Zayden

Seeing that Riley still refused to admit the truth, Zayden played the recording. Her crazed and venomous voice echoed through the hall.An uproar broke out instantly.“Wow, Riley is really bold! How old was she eight years ago? She was already plotting to get her hands on the Scott family’s money back then. She’s been staying with them for eight years! What an ungrateful person!”“No kidding. She always looked so innocent and delicate, but she’s so rotten inside.”Riley’s face turned deathly pale, and her whole body trembled. How did Zayden get the recording?Back then, only she and Sienna had been there! All these years, she had tried every way to seduce Zayden. All she wanted was for him to fall in love with her, so she could live a life of luxury without worries. But all her years of scheming were exposed. Everything was over.No. She could not admit it.If she did, she would be despised by everyone in Sea City.A life like that would be worse than dying.Riley desperate

Chapter 17

“He’s still there?”Inside the Lewis family villa, Helen glanced out the window and saw Zayden standing silently outside. He stood tall and straight, like a silent statue.“Madam, Mr. Scott says he wants to see Ms. Lewis.”Helen slammed her teacup down in fury. “What does he take Sienna for? He abandoned her, hurt her, and now, he thinks just saying he regrets it can erase everything he did to her?”She remembered the call she received from Sienna not long ago and how broken she had sounded. The memory made Helen’s heart ache.“Tell him to leave. Tell him we’re not receiving guests.”Outside, it had started to drizzle. Rain fell on Zayden’s face, but he did not move at all.The door opened, and the butler stepped out.“Mr. Scott, please leave. We are not receiving guests.”It was clearly an order to leave, but Zayden paid it no mind. He simply kept his eyes fixed on the second-floor window. From this angle, he could see a room filled with airplane models. It was Sienna’s b

At the aviation center, Sienna had just finished a full day of training. She took off her helmet and returned to the lounge.Inside, someone had already prepared fresh fruit and desserts.“Sienna, your doctor came to see you! He even brought us some afternoon tea!”A few colleagues ate the fruits and expressed their envy.Sienna nodded and walked into her private rest area, only to see a man in a white dress shirt sitting on the couch waiting for her. From where she stood, she could clearly see the fringe of hair falling over his forehead and his long, straight nose.Sienna had seen many handsome men. But aside from Zayden, the one who left the deepest impression on her was Sean Ziegler. He was her attending doctor, a renowned medical professor both locally and internationally.Sienna admired him greatly and felt grateful to him.“Dr. Ziegler.”As soon as she spoke, Sean put down the book in his hands. He stood up and walked over to her.“Ms. Lewis, congratulations on passi

Chapter 19

When Sienna came back to her senses, she was sitting across from Sean. This was the busiest area in Helmswick, and the restaurant they were in was a themed barbecue place she had always wanted to try but never had the time for.“How did you know I’ve always wanted to come here?”All the complicated guesses swirling in her mind disappeared. The delicious food in front of her left her in awe.Sean rested his chin on his hand. His deep eyes made it impossible to read his emotions. He looked both pleased and affectionate.“Because everything you feel is written all over your face.”She did not hear the rest of what he said. All she did was focus on the food and enjoy every bite. When the meal was over, Sean drove her back to the aviation center. On the way, with the gentle sea breeze, Sienna suddenly realized this was not the way back to the center.“Dr. Ziegler, where are we going?”“There’s an air show at the beach. Your favorite pilot is performing. But don’t worry. This t

Chapter 20

Sienna had been away from Sea City for so long that she never imagined Zayden would come looking for her.She remembered that he was supposed to get engaged to Riley. Why was he looking for her?Her reaction struck a chord deep in Zayden’s heart. But he quickly calmed himself. After all, Sienna had endured so much pain.Swallowing his pride for her just this once did not matter.“Sienna, I know you’re angry with me. I know I was wrong. I’ve taken care of Riley. If you still care about it, you can deal with her however you want, as long as it makes you happy.”Zayden spoke gently. He tugged at the hem of her shirt like a child desperate for affection. But to Sienna, his actions were nothing but disgusting. They sent chills down her spine. She knew exactly what he meant by “taken care of.” After all his years dominating Sea City’s business world, his methods were far from clean. If he could do that to Riley, someone who had been with him for nearly ten years, just how ruthless
