A Bond So Despised, A Love So Desired!

Yaria's Pov. ...I walked into the prodigious hall that was packed with people dressed like the moon goddess herself was the host. They chatted with one another, their fingers clutching wineglasses halfway filled with exquisite wine. Well, I was late, but I barely drew attention, not that I desired it.My outfit was simple, and I wore very little makeup in contrast to most female guests I could see. Exhaling a sigh, I accepted a glass of wine from a server. I just hoped this party would get done with quickly so I could get back home to handle the documents awaiting my perusal.Suddenly, I picked up a scent. It overpowered the present clash of perfumes in the hall. The din of the place faded out, my heart started pounding against my chest, not the scared kind but the frenziedly excited kind. "Mate! Our mate is here!" my wolf, Tricia declared excitedly in my head, leaving me in disbelief. My mate was here? Why now?Having turned 25 last month, I'd already resigned to the fact that

Yaria's POV ... My eyes slowly peeled open. The pristine ceiling came into view, along with the smell of antiseptic. Scrunching up my nose, I propped my upper body to rest against the headboard. On my left wrist was an IV drip attached. Last night, when Frander, our gatekeeper, drove me to the hospital, I didn't wait for him to open the door for me. I hopped out of the vehicle and hared into the hospital. I was trying to explain to the receptionist nurse when I felt my vision blurring and my knees becoming like jelly. I held on to the counter, not wanting to keel over. I guess I failed in the end. But fortunately, my body seemed to have calmed down now. Just as I exhaled a relieved sigh, the door opened and in came my aunt. "You're awake," she exclaimed, eyes misty, but she was undeniably excited. She hurried over and sat on the bed. "How are you feeling now?" I smilingly responded, "I feel much better, Aunt." My aunt nodded sagely. "That's great. Thank the goddess.

Yaria's POV ... If I didn't come here for something important, I would have left this place instantly. The thought of us being mated once more was appalling. I couldn't even stand him. But then, the deal needed to be signed. My aunt had entrusted me with it. I couldn't just walk away, and I wouldn't want to offend the CEO."No need to see me off further, Mr Johnson," Drake smilingly told the corpulent man. The latter shook his head and tried to insist, but Drake didn't let him. "Alright then, take care," the CEO said before pivoting on his foot. I walked forward, closer and closer to my enemy mate. "Yaria..." he began with a soft tone.I scoffed and walked past him, picking up my pace as I got the CEO to notice my presence. "Oh, she sent you in her stead. Come with me." He was unexpectedly quite kind. Not a trace of arrogance in his eyes. If he were the one I was mated to, for instance, it would be more preferable than that devil. "Yaria," Drake called my name again,

Yaria's POV ... Night had approached, and I was exhausted from handling documents. Stretching my back to loosen stiff muscles, I got up from the chair and hit the sheets, legs splayed out, hands clutching my plushie. Unfortunately, even after several minutes had passed, I couldn't have the luxury of drifting off, not when my wolf was hellbent on convincing me that Drake was the one for me."Tricia, please stop this. No matter what you say, I will never accept Drake into my life." I upbraided her. Thanks to his father, a happy family of three was separated forever, two to the cold hands of death. Thanks to his mother, I lost my scholarship. Thanks to him, I was the butt of ridicule in high school. Thanks to him, I wanted to attempt suicide three times. The Sawyers are a despicable bunch I never want to associate myself with. "This matter is decided," I told my wolf with a scowl. I don't want to see that man again, but if I inevitably do, I'll reject him. Tricia can go to slum

Drake's POV ...Last night, after I'd gotten her admitted, I stood outside the ward, pacing up and down. I wanted to know what had happened to her. So I made a call, asking the recipient to help me find out what happened to my mate. Every minute that passed felt unusually long, and my tension was on the increase as my pacing became faster. "Sir, please, calm down," a nurse told me as she stepped out of the ward, holding a medical tray in her hand."How is she?" I asked, my voice desperate as I paused in front of her. "She..." The door opened just at that moment, and the doctor stepped out, prescription glasses resting on the bridge of his nose, a stethoscope hanging around his shoulders, and his hands in his white coat.Seeing this, the nurse started to leave. After all, the doctor was there to feed my curiosity. The latter didn't wait for me to ask. "Mr Sawyer, she's fine now. You can go in and see her. But be sure not to disturb her, she needs rest." I gratefully nodded in a

Drake's POV ... I could see the hurt in her eyes. More than anything, the death of her aunt must've hit her the most. My hatred for the unknown mastermind behind all this grew with every second. My mate was still angry at me because of the past. That was alright. I would surely make it up to her. Still on my knees, I decided to bring forward a proposal. "Yaria, I've found out what happened to you. And.. I'm sorry for your loss." "I don't need condolences from a viper," she spat, her gaze still turned away. "Please, allow me to help you out, find the mastermind behind all this." I entreated. She scoffed, "I don't need your help." "I know. But just allow me, if there's no progress, I'll stop and let you do your thing, please." She snuffled before turning to look at me. "Why would you help me? Just because we share a bond that I don't desire?" She queried me. "It's not because of that, dear," I told her."Don't call me that," she told me, a frown materialising on her face. It

Yaria's POV ... Upon hearing of the alarming news from my mate's assistant, George Hanson, I quickly boarded a taxi, wanting to head to the mentioned hospital. But shockingly, the driver wasn't taking me there. Instead, despite my protests, he drove me to a lonely road where he stopped as he saw some cars blocking the way. I was then gagged and transferred into the other car, and en route, I passed out.Waking up, I found myself perched on a chair, still gagged. I was also blindfolded and had my hands firmly and painfully tied behind me. I felt weak and too dizzy to stand up. That was when I saw the person who had ordered the kidnapping, Drake's father. He told me he was responsible for every bad thing that had happened in my life. And that was because he hated my parents. They had not only refused what he called a 'win-win' deal of selling their company to him, but my late father also knew some of his secrets, and as such, he couldn't let my parents live. He had spared me and my

Yaria's POV ...My eyes fluttered open, and I took in the sight of where I was. I could see that I was in the hospital once more. In a private ward. Memory of what happened before I passed out last time resurfaced. Drake's father. That bastard! He was the one responsible for the major tragedies I had to go through. My parents. The company. Our house. My aunt. And now, he wanted my life?I knew for sure that he would be behind bars now, where he should rightly be, awaiting trial. I would see to it that I get justice no matter what. He wouldn't be able to wiggle his way out of this one. Just as I'd propped my upper body up against the headboard, the door opened in that moment and in came Drake, dressed in a smart yet casual outfit. It suited him, though. Honestly, even the world's tackiest outfit would look nice on him."You're awake. Oh, thank goodness," he said between heaves, making his way over to me quickly. He pulled the chair closer to the bed and sat. "I really was worried

Yaria's POV ..."I just feel...somehow. I hadn't planned on letting you see me like this. I'm not yet cut," he said, his gaze averted. "I did see that," I pointed out with a nod.And I didn't mind. For someone I loved, being cut or not didn't really matter. What was essential was that he had good hygiene and was healthy. And all I saw was a good-looking and fighting fit pecker, nothing to be mortified about. "I..." He suspired before continuing, "I'd planned to undergo the procedure after my parents had been punished accordingly.” “Why?” I asked, a brow lifted.“I harboured a fear that you'd react negatively to my prepuce should we get intimate, and I believed that the moment for us to become sexually involved was still distant, possibly a few months away. Please, can we postpone this to… much later? I appreciate what you want to do, but..." "Drake, I love it the way it is," I reassured him. "It's very attractive to me, if you don't know. Please, let me see it again."After a sho

Hiddleston High is an all-male paranormal institution where different supernatural creatures exist. Attending this academy were werewolves, vampires, witches, mermaids, orcs, elves, werecats, werebears, serpents and even heretics.Nestled in a secluded valley, only chosen and intelligent male successors of elite nobles who were at least 15 years old went to this academy. There, they are taught how to harness their powers, become warriors and the like. Hiddleston High provides a haven for them to develop their innate abilities, hone their skills, and become formidable warriors. It was also known, though, that crown princes started the academy quite early, at either age 5 or 10, depending on their parents. That's because the work of a king is not an easy job; there's a lot behind the scenes, a heavy cross they must carry from the moment they assume kingship. Hence, it was important to start school in Hiddleston High early enough. As the son of the formidable Beta of the Ocean Howl Pack,
