Semua Bab Goodbye, Saintess.: Bab 341 - Bab 350

This was it! Metis' secret technique to regain Sebastian's favor."I admit this was my fault, okay? But I can make it up to you… The drug's effect hasn't exactly left…"She couldn't even meet Sebastian's eyes now. All she could remember was what her mentor had told her: men loved proactive women. With a hint as obvious as this, Sebastian would have to stop being mad now, right?…"You want to make it up to me? Sure," I said evenly. "I actually had a reason for looking for you. I want us to be business partners. I want to buy your specially made herbal formula, mass-produce it through a pharmaceutical company, and market the products."I quietly removed her from me so I could finally breathe. "I plan to share the profit with you as dividends. What do you think?""What? My formula? You came all the way to Beaushire because of business?!" Metis suddenly stared at me, wide-eyed with disbelief.I nodded. "Yeap."Then I looked away. I didn't trust myself to keep looking at Metis whe

Sebastian was stunned. He knew Jeanine was efficient, but this exceeded all expectations."Did you burn the midnight oil, Jeanine? That's not our company culture, you know. The word 'sleep' is literally in our name. We should all take care of our health and rest when needed," he said, unable to keep from lecturing her."Thank you for your concern, sir! But I didn't work overnight. Don't worry. I just happen to have friends who work in pharmacies and hospitals," she replied easily. Her employer's concern warmed her.…"Good, good. I'll take a look at that document right now."I reviewed the report while Jeanine explained. "The trends show a large group of people suffering from sleep disorders and insomnia. A few friends of mine mentioned that this is also when demand for seasonal flu medication spikes. So, I believe these two areas offer the greatest potential."I nodded, impressed. "You've outdone yourself again, Jeanine. This report is thorough and detailed—perfect. Your analys

Once we had eaten our fill, the conversation shifted naturally to the partnership."I wonder how big the deal you're offering is, Mr. Grimwald," Joe began, smiling at me and narrowing his eyes.I calmly held up four fingers. "According to projections, the market I can dominate should make this at least a 42-million-dollar deal. If the drug meets my standards and our profits exceed expectations, I'm willing to increase the investment."Sleeping Giant's net worth might currently be only 14 million dollars, but our potential could easily secure a 28-million-dollar bank loan. I had already made my decision: go big or go home.Everyone at the table froze. Glasses slipped from hands, and jaws dropped."T-That's a lot…""You're incredible, Mr. Grimwald! Your company's potential is staggering!" Taylor and Wayne exclaimed, their faces red. They picked up their glasses again and toasted me with even more deference. Anyone who could secure a deal like this would instantly become the leader

Metis backed away, heart hammering. Her skill with medical needles bordered on magical, but it only worked one-on-one and with the element of surprise. She scanned the room with clenched fists, cold sweat running down her spine. There are too many men… I can't possibly win. When will you be here, Sebastian?"Hey, hey! How could you call me an intruder, Dr. Fey? That stings," a young man that seemed to be the leader said, striding into the room with a mocking grin. "Or did you actually mean these other boys?"He waved, signaling his henchmen to retreat to the corridor. Then he turned to Metis, and his smile widened as he appraised her like prey. He swallowed hard, eyes alight with hunger."I've never met a woman as beautiful and elegant as you, Dr. Fey! It's impossible to let someone like you go when you consider how rare you are. Besides, I thought we became friends last night!" His lips twitched as he licked them eagerly. "Too bad one of my underlings was an idiot. I had no idea w

The room was a wreck. Metis and I exchanged a glance. Her tears hadn't even dried. Worried she was still in shock, I began, "Are you alright—"She lunged at me and kissed me with sudden intensity. Her arms wrapped around me tightly. Her kiss was clumsy but overflowing with the desperate need for security after surviving a harrowing ordeal. It lasted a minute or more before Metis finally pulled back, out of breath, and tremblingly collapsed into my arms. "I-I thought I was done for… I… I'm so glad you're here…""It's okay. It's over now. Let's get you to a new hotel, alright?" I replied, gasping for air.Was I hallucinating? Was I sick? My heart raced as if it had a mind of its own. It resonated with hers and beat in perfect, wild unison. What was happening? My heart had never raced like this, not even at the wedding aisle with Hera. Why did being with her feel like this? Then, as if the universe were mocking us, Harry Applebaum barged back in. This time, he was dripping with eve
