Semua Bab Bound by His Mark, Freed by His Betrayal: Bab 101 - Bab 110

Elena’s POV.Ashanti had struck again, and all of Crimson Moon now had my name on their lips. But what she didn’t know was that by releasing the fake news to the public, she had dug her own grave. The chief of the Armed Forces sat in the living room with Horace and i.He had run to the White House the moment the news first broke, already sure that I had no involvement in it but searching for any evidence that could point to the people who released the news, as he claimed to have been investigating the case for a while.“So how long have you been investigating the case, and what evidence have you managed to gather?” Horace asked, sitting opposite the chief.“Well, we began investigating the case when we first noticed the inconsistencies of certain products coming into the pack. We sent a letter to the council of elders, and an investigation was called upon immediately. However, ever since we began, we unfortunately have found nothing.Well, until this breakthrough in the news.”“And h

Elena’s POVI wanted him. Badly. But I just couldn’t get rid of the fear that tugged deep in my heart. It felt as if I made any attempt to grab onto any idea of happiness, I was going to regret it. Lose it.And I didn't want to lose him. Not Horace. The man was becoming everything for me. Another thing that scared me deeply. How long could I go on avoiding him when his face was always in my mind? His touch, gentle and otherwise, had become the only activity my mind could dwell on. My wolf purred at the slightest hint of his scent.Yet, all I wanted to do was avoid the man. How in the hell was that possible?I took one last look, hoping he’d see through my refusal. Hoping he’d be able to understand that it wasn’t that I didn’t want him, but that I wanted him too much, and I was scared that if I played into it. I may have nothing but tears and sorrow to fall back on.I turned on my heels, walking out of his sight.Though I could feel his eyes bearing deeply into my skin. In fac

Elena’s POVThe day after we spoke, I sent all the evidence I had against them to the police, intentionally omitting Michael’s involvement.I wanted the fear to build bit by bit, make him go crazy from hallucinations before I dropped the final ball. With the evidence in the police’s hands, it didn't take long before her face graced the news more than ever.Like every hour of the day.Not in her usual manner as the star of some magazine, but as a high-profile suspect on the run.At least she was still being treated with a bit of respect, as the police were still urging her to come in for questioning, as to the usual procedure for threats to criminals on the run.But instead of doing just that, she was blowing up my phone repeatedly. Obviously, I knew why she was calling meShe wanted to explore her stupidity by demanding answers as to how I could dare to fight against her in such a manner. The audacity she exhibited was one that sometimes left me shocked.Anyway, I didn’t pick up any o

Elena’s POVHorace punched Coren continuously, never once bending to the pleas of the voices behind.I stood frozen, unsure of what to do as I had never seen him so out of touch. My eyes darted around, and just then, I caught an unexpected sight. The blonde woman, Coren's wife, stood by the side, sneering at her husband, who was sprawled out on the floor, only reacting to the punches he was getting. My brows shot up as that was the least reaction I was expecting to see from the wife of a man in such a position.I was still staring at her, my surprise etched on my face, when she turned and her eyes met mine. Her face quickly softened, and she jerked like she hadn’t been expecting anyone to catch her look. She looked around her to confirm if I was the only one who had caught her in such a questioning state, and I was.Every other person was too busy being shocked by Horace’s display.I looked away, deciding the matter wasn’t important enough for me to focus on at that moment.my eyes fl

Elena’s POV.I watched the woman before me straddle her horse as she stared intently at each other.Horace had excused himself after she said she wanted to speak with me.But not without me noticing the obvious deep hesitation. One she didn’t seem surprised by.Although I had almost rejected the request as I didn’t want to be a party to whatever was between her and her husband, on second thought, I decided to hear her out. After all, it couldn’t hurt to listen.“How can I help you, Luna Viva?”She sighed. “Well, Luna Elena—.”“Elena is just fine, I’m no Luna. Just here as a plus one.”She smiled. “And yet, you seem to be the most protected amongst all Lunas on this very property.”I had no words to give as a response to her, so I just stared, listening. She let out a chuckle. “Forgive me, I overstepped. I meant no offense.”“None taken, Luna Viva,” I replied, my voice a lot less on edge.“Well, first of all, I would like to apologise to you on behalf of my husband. I heard what he did
