HOLLYThere was a crack in the wall. Not big enough for Holly to squeeze through and escape from the dungeon, but big enough for a cold wind to come whistling through the opening and chill Holly's bones. Holly had never been in the dungeon before. She'd been in plenty of trouble over her life but the Alpha tended towards flash point punishments that happened immediately. There had never been any reason for her to be detained longer than an hour. And now here she was, awaiting her execution.Holly slumped back against the cold stones. Her shackles jangled as she adjusted to try to get more comfortable. It didn't work. The little cell they'd shoved her in was cold and damp and about the size of a pantry. There was no bed or cot, only a pile of unfortunate smelling blankets in the corner she refused to touch. She was going to catch a chill at this rate.Holly scoffed. She'd catch a chill just in time for her execution. She drew her knees up to her chest and laid her chin on them. Wrap

CYRUS Cyrus toed the hard packed dirt of the Ashland Pack ceremonial grounds. The morning sun was a spear of light in the sky, The pin prick of light was doing little to nothing to warm the chilled masses that had gathered for the girl's punishment. No, not the girl. Holly. He'd learnt her name from one of the passing omegas last night after he had stormed out of the dungeon in a huff. Not that he'd admit to his brothers that he'd been acting huffily. He should be enthused but he felt nothing but dread. He didn't actually want her to be hurt. This was just the only way he could think to keep her from getting killed If he'd been given a week he surely could have come up with something better but on the spot this was the best he could do. Four lashings. She'd survive. But she'd hate them for it.Nevertheless, as long as s

SORINSorin looked up as Cyrus entered the room“How'd it go?” He asked peevishly. Cyrus knew how he felt about this scheme. It wasn't going to work. And in the meantime they were making this poor girl go through lashings on their behalf? It was despicable. “Strange. It went strangely,” his brother replied. Whatever that meant.“What do you want, Cy?” Sorin sighed. He wasn't in the mood for his brother's machinations. He was busy packing up to leave this horrible place.“I need you to take care of something for me,” Cyrus said. Sorin didn't like the sound of that.“And what would that be?” He asked.“I need you to go to the dungeons and bandage the girl,” he replied. The girl. That's all Cyrus called her. Not her name but the girl. Sorin realized belatedly that he didn't actually know her name. The thought gave him an unpleasant twist in his stomach.“Why can't you?” He asked and went back to packing.“I tried and she did this,” Cyrus turned his cheek and Sorin saw three delicate scr
