A voice whispering my name pulled me out of my deep slumber. A loud sound emanated through the room, jerking me awake. It sounded like a growl and a scream combined. The blinding lights caused me to shut my eyes immediately. “Gio…Giovanni?” I called out softly, cracking one eye open before the other. My vision was blurry. I felt heavy, and there was a sharp pain on my side.“Elara, help,” I heard his exasperated voice call out, and I jerked up actively. I wasn’t on a bed anymore, but a reclining chair like Giovanni’s. Sandro's POV Dante had been the mitigator. I, on the other hand, was still seething from the near fight with Silas. He had apologised and was sitting with his tail between his legs.The room was heavy with silence as we all sat quietly. I took deep breaths to calm myself before speaking again. “Elara is my mate and it is my duty to ensure that she's safe. You do not need to remind me of that,” I said, and Silas nodded.“Now,” I continued, rising to my feet. “Let's go see Madame G, she can help,” I said, leading the way out the door.Madame Gianna, fondly known as Madame G was a witch who found residence in Moretti Brun. In a flash, the room was filled with light and equipment that sparked and banged before everything went dark. A soldier in front of me fell to the ground with a groan, and we all turned on our flashlights in a frenzy. The once dark room was now filled with equipment, but before I could make out the figures of anyone around, another soldier groaned, clenching his arm.“Someone has wolfsbane on them,” he choked out, pulling out a small dart from his arm as he fought against its effects. “I think they're humans.” I nodded, and he found shelter so he could let his body heal. Wolfsbane could only weaken a wolf and temporarily mess with their abilities. “What is this place?” I heard someone ask as our light rays searched the corners of the wide room. “It looks like some sort of lab. “What are you talking about?” I asked, sitting up on the bed. “I'm talking about him,” he pointed at Giovanni, who was kneeling at the other side of the room.
