Stephanie's POV:The cold, turquoise water swallowed me whole, rushing into my ears and stinging my eyes. For a few freezing moments, I floundered beneath the surface, kicking my legs frantically before bursting back up into the air with a loud, hacking cough, slicking my heavy, waterlogged hair away from my face with both hands. I stood there in the shallow-to-medium end, shivering slightly, staring up toward the tiled edge of the pool in absolute, unadulterated disbelief. I lifted my chin and glared toward the edge of the pool. Ares was standing right at the border, looking down at me. And, to my absolute horror, he was laughing. Again.
