Sienna’s Point of View The coffee shop is louder than usual. Not in a bad way. Just… full. I slide into the booth with my mother already sitting there, Asher’s mother beside her, Bianca and Ava across from them, and Anna squeezing in next to me with a grin. “You’re late,” my mother says immediately. “I’m five minutes early,” I reply. “You’re late,” she repeats firmly. Asher’s mother laughs. “Let her breathe. She’s running a pack now.” “I can still be late,” I mutter. Bianca grins. “You look tired.” “I am tired.” Anna nudges me. “But like… important tired.” “That is not a thing.” “It is now,” Ava says. “Luna tired.” I groan. “You are all going to be unbearable today, aren’t you?” “Yes,” Bianca says cheerfully. A server comes by and we all order drinks and food, everyone talking over each other until it finally settles into overlapping conversations. “So,” Ava says, leaning forward, “how did the council meeting go?” I exhale. “Productive.” “That’s code,” Anna says. “
