Aurelia’s POV We were back at the hotel room now, and I was seated on the bed with my fingers running through my damp hair. I was tired and my body ached from the battle with Fernando and his beta. I was glad that we’d been able to get our crystal back, but at the same time, I wondered if it was a good thing that we won it. If we didn’t, we would have been sent back home which meant that I would get to be with Asher quicker than I expected. But that didn’t look like the case, because so far I hadn’t seen anybody being thrown out. The shower was supposed to be relaxing, but it barely did any good for me. Maybe if I got some sleep, it would chase away the pain. My lip still stung from the cut that I’d gotten from the fight. I was tired. I needed some rest. I rubbed my hair with the towel vigorously trying my best to dry it as quickly as possible. I was in nothing but my bra and panties. Rune was in the bathroom, which meant I still had a few minutes to fix myself before he came out.

Kael’s POV I was a fool. I was doing it wrong. My efforts to get Aurelia back were backfiring and I was slowly losing myself. What could I do? What hadn’t I done that could impress her? There was little that I could do while we were here. Our ins and outs were monitored so it was pointless going out. All I could do was sit in my room all day with Ethan criticizing me each time. Rune’s POV “Well, that was anticlimactic,” Solana said as we walked out of the hall. The conference lasted only a few hours, shorter than expected. Why would they call us all the way here just to talk about things that weren’t important? I knew why I was called here. And I knew why Aurelia was here as well. I figured it out last night. They were watching us. They wanted to know more about Aurelia and me. And if there were a chance, they would have loved to study Asher too.
