Lahat ng Kabanata ng Werewolf Academy : Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

“I look like a damn potato,” Nate whines, tearing off the beige, button-up shirt and tossing it onto his bed. My gaze narrows onto the now-crumpled shirt—one of many other shirts lying beside me.I sigh.“I still think the teal one looks great on you,” I insist, pulling it out from the pile and holding it up. “It brings out the color in your eyes.”Nate stares into his closet. “Yeah? You think?”I nod. “Not think. I know.”He lets out a low breath of defeat, holding out a hand, wriggling his fingers. “All right. Let me have it.”I pass him the shirt. “So. What’s the big plan tonight?”As Nate pulls the shirt over his head, he says, “Well, Luca said he’s taking care of it. So, I don’t know exactly.”“But it involves taking over Valerie’s party?”“Yes,” he offers a toothy grin, as his head pops out through the neckline of his shirt, his light curly copper hair sticking up in all directions.“You have so much faith in him.”“And you don’t?” he asks, looking taken aback. “Hails, the guy is

I freeze, feeling every pair of eyes in the vicinity turn toward me. “Uh—”“This was my party!” Valerie yells, stomping toward me with the energy of a five-year-old denied candy. “You think you can just take over? With this—” she gestures wildly at the setup around us—“this… this… ugh!”I don’t think there’s a way she can insult the set-up. Luca did a pretty damn good job with everything—which left even me rendered speechless, and in lack of a good comeback. The man in question chooses that moment to saunter up just as Valerie is in mid-tantrum, her feet stomping up tufts of sand as she screams—his grin wide and unapologetic. “Now, now, Valerie,” he says, smirking. “No need to push the panic button. We’re all just here for a good time, right?”Valerie’s face twists into something resembling a furious tomato. “You!” she screeches, pointing an accusatory finger at Luca. “I know this was you. You sabotaged everything!”“Sabotage what? You mean, the cheap drinks and tacky food that littere

The game begins, and it’s chaotic from the start. Laughter, shouts, and splashes fill the air as we try to keep the glowing ball in our possession. The water feels alive around us, moving with the force of our bodies and the waves. Every now and then, the ball slips from someone’s hand, bouncing on the surface before disappearing under a spray of water, only to be retrieved by a determined player. Of course—magic is also used. But since I haven’t mastered it yet, I’m stuck trying to get the ball back the human way.I’m breathless, as I chase after Celeste, who’s dodging my attempts to grab the ball. The sound of the ocean is louder now, crashing against us as we move further from the shore. I glance back, realizing how far we’ve drifted.“Here!” Nate calls out, and I turn just in time to see the ball flying toward me.I jump, catching it mid-air. A triumphant grin spreads across my face, but it fades when I notice something. Out of the corner of my eye, past the glow of the ball, there

“I’m okay, Nate,” I wheeze, as he squeezes me so tight I think for a moment that potion is losing its effect. It isn’t until he lets go of me that I can catch my breath again. “Are you okay?”He plants a fist on each hip, sighing, “I might have popped an artery—or a few. But I’ll be fine. I’m more worried about you. How do you feel?”I glance down at the vial I tossed onto the bed in an haste to grab the candy from Ariah, and say, “I can breathe, so I’m good now. That stuff is awful, whatever is in there.”“Most potions taste like crap, but they’re effective” Nate agrees. “Never mind that. What happened back there, in the water? I thought you could swim?”“I can. It was a ghost.”Nate gapes at me. “You’re telling me a ghost tried to drown you?”“Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying,” I frown, sinking into a sitting position on the edge of the bed. “And no, I’ve never seen this ghost before.”Silence stretches for a moment, before Celeste asks, “After Sally attacked you, another one come

The morning light streaming through the castle’s narrow windows feels far too cheery for my current mood. After last night’s cleansing ritual with Mrs. Humphrey, I should feel lighter, calmer, maybe even… safe. The ritual was intense, involving candles, herbs, and chants I couldn’t begin to repeat if my life depended on it. Mrs. Humphrey assured me that it should disrupt any lingering spiritual energies around me, at least temporarily. She even sent me back to my room with a grounding crystal and a pat on the shoulder.“Get some rest,” she’d said. “We’ll figure out what’s really going on soon enough.”I clung to her words but it was a meager attempt—because honestly, anyone would feel demotivated with such lackluster reassurance and the knowledge that ghosts are out for your blood. But then again, why would more random ghosts show up to try and kill me, right? Yet, as I step into the hallway, I can’t shake the knot of tension in my stomach. It only gets worse when I realize how not alo
