Chapter 42 Jax's pov. I woke up in the middle of the night, gasping softly as if I had been underwater for too long. My eyes open to the familiar ceiling of my room, yet something in me feels displaced. My body was heavy, stiff and when I tried to move, a sharp ache ran through my spine as if I had been lying inside the same position for a long time for ages. The last thing I remember was sitting with the elders after our last peace making meeting, arguments rising, voices clashing, Raven’s name lingering painful in the air.
