Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alpha's Stolen Luna: Kabanata 281 - Kabanata 290

I almost backed out of the plan a dozen times but Sera pointed out that the ball made this an even better opportunity. Most of the palace security would be focused around the main wing of the palace. Not to mention the busy chaos of the staff throughout the place. She would have a better window to sneak into the Nomi’s and Raphe’s apartments to search for the key.Truth be told, this was the real reason I had come along. Lucas hadn’t actually told me to come with Sutton, but Jaden and I agreed he would have if he hadn’t been so upset. Not to mention a little out of his mind from lack of sleep. Jaden originally volunteered the minute he realized Sutton was still going without Lucas, but I convinced him it was better for him to stay at the packhouse and hold things down. While Lucas would be grateful that I came along to keep Sutton and Helene safe, he wouldn’t approve of Sera and me running this mission without him. But after hearing about the huge fight he and Sutton had, neither of u

“You did what?”I was knee deep in debris when I got the call. I almost didn’t answer. Max wasn’t who I wanted to talk to at that moment. I’d missed Sutton’s calls and messages after not realizing my phone had died on the drive out here. By the time I got it turned back on, Sutton wasn’t answering hers. But I remembered Max had also messaged that he was with her at the capital. So, seeing his call had me panicking. What I heard was far from what I expected.“We moved forward with the plan,” Max repeated. “But something went wrong. They have Sera. She locked up in the palace.”“Where is Sutton?” I demanded. “You said you went to protect her.”“Sutton is fine,” Max replied. “She and Helene are at the ball with Soloman. She’s safe.”“Wait… ball? What ball?”“Eh… that’s another story,” Max said. “We don’t have time for that. We need to figure out how the hell we’re going to get Sera out of trouble.”“She would be in trouble if you had done what I told you,” I barked, climbing my way out o

I owed Soloman for the strings he managed to pull so quickly. Without him, we never would have been able to land in the private airport in the capital. Let alone had a car waiting for me in the parking lot. I told Uncle Rodney to wait with the plane while went to the palace to handle things. Not that I knew how I was going to handle this mess. I had been desperately trying to work out a plan on the flight here but my head just wouldn’t focus. No doubt thanks to the lack of sleep and the fact that I didn’t know the last time I’d consumed anything other than whiskey. Rhonen still hadn’t returned either. Still pissed about my argument with Sutton.Max linked me where to park when I got close to the palace, making sure we wouldn’t draw attention. He and Soloman met me at a staff entrance at the back end of the building.“It’s all quiet now,” Max insisted in hushed tones as he let me in. “But we should stay clear of the guest wing just to be cautious.”“Sutton is safe?” I demanded. “She’s

My hands shook as I fumbled with the doorknob of our suite. Helene was saying something, I think. I didn’t know for sure. I wasn’t really registering my surroundings as tunnel vision took over. I wasn’t really even thinking. I wasn’t able to do anything but try to get the image of what I’d just seen out of my head.I moved forward. Well, at least I could feel my feet moving. Until they weren’t. They couldn’t even hold me up anymore. All of my body's energy was being funneled to my chest, forcing my heart to beat so fast and loud I could hear it in my ears. I couldn’t breathe. An invisible vice was squeezing my lungs, preventing me from taking a full breath. And I felt hot. So hot that sweat was breaking out on my brow. But cold at the same time. Like my hands were going numb from it.At some point, Helene’s face filled my blurry vision. She was speaking to me but I still couldn’t hear her. But she looked scared. I needed to know why she looked so scared. So, I focused on her lips. Tryi

“Sutton, please, just come home,” Max pleaded. “I swear, Lucas can explain everything.”“I don’t want his explanation,” I replied as I sat by the window, still in my night clothes with no intention of changing.Max huffed. “He deserves a chance to explain.”“Does he?” I asked. “Even if I give him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn’t actually here to sneak around with Sera, then the question still stands—why else would he be here? The only other reason I could imagine is something to do with this… vendetta he has against my uncle. Meaning he not only went behind my back after I asked him to drop it. Either way, he’s been keeping something from me.”“Which is why you should come home,” Max argued. “He’ll tell you whatever you want to know.”“No,” I said sadly. “I’m not so sure he will.”“Sutton…”“I just need some space,” I snapped. “Please, just go.”Helene came over and sat in the chair across from me. “Sutton, are you sure about this?” she asked. “It may be easier to hear him out.
