BenThree days. It's been three days since I saw her last. She avoids me at any given moment, from running out of the room when I get there to locking the door to her bedroom. Something broke, and I can't even console her about it, because she won't spare me the time of day. Tonight is the pack run. The full moon. Everyone in the mansion will be meeting in the garden to shift, except her. She will be inside and asleep just like a normal mundie. Something in my chest aches at the thought of her being alone. I need to focus. A man and his wife are tied up on the floor right in front of me, in their own home, and all I can think about is Daliah. My gun is pointed at the two of them while the wolves around me retrieve what we came here for. "Please, you don't have to do this." BenHer eyes are locked onto mine, and there is a scent in the air that is undeniably beautiful. A mixture of nervousness and arousal. She watches me intensely as I strip my shirt from my body, kicking off my shoes and tossing them to the side. "I need to shower," I tell her, still caught in her gaze. The words seem to break her concentration on me, and she blinks a few times before flushing bright red. Her eyes instantly drop as she turns her head away, and I take it as my cue to leave. I don't want to leave her alone, not even for a second. I want her in the bathroom with me; hell, I want her naked in the shower with me. But I can't let that happen. I don't want to be the monster who takes advantage of her. Besides, she'd probably try to kill me if I acted on this feeling. My shower is quick, and I am desperate to return to her side. BenI searched everywhere for her. I had to leave to help the guard find Antonio, who wasn't far from the dungeons at all. Oddly enough, we found him in the kitchen rummaging through the fridge. He didn't even fight when we brought him back to the cell; in fact, he wore a smug grin that I couldn't understand. When I got back to the room, she was gone. I searched every room of the mansion, finding nothing but her bag flung in an empty hallway. At one point, I had to stop searching because of a terrible pain in my stomach. It was like I was being torn in half by something.Now, at the ripe time of 5 am, I have screamed at nearly every wolf that walked through the doors, ordering them to help me find her. No one could pick up her scent, and neither could I. Now and again, I get that pain back in my stomach, and I have to fight off a fever for a while. It is infuriating, and my pack was exhausted from the run. My mind couldn't stop running over every possibility. Did she leave me again?

DaliahWhen I finally crack my eyes open, the golden lamp on the side of my bed is back, as if I had never broken it. With a painful glance at the door, I can see that the glass is in perfect condition. My brain feels like it is trying to break out of my skull with every thump that rings in my ears, like the worst hangover I have ever had. I groan uncomfortably, trying to block the light from the balcony door from reaching my eyes. It feels like everything was just a terrible nightmare. I had never gotten out of bed that day, never panicked over Antonio, and was never taken by Duncan. At some point in that room, he had hit me hard enough for me to lose consciousness for the drive out to wherever we were. Ben"What the fuck, man!" I shout at Kyle as he stands in the doorway with a half-eaten apple and a dumbfounded expression."Sorry, Alpha. I didn't know, I swear!" He shouts after me as I chase Daliah out of the kitchen's back door, into the hallway. Her feet shuffle quickly, and I try to keep up without running. I didn't want to push her further away from the sound of my chasing her. "Daliah, hey, wait," I call after her, but she doesn't react. When she reaches a utility closet in the hallway, she pushes through it. I can hear the sound of the lock latching in place as soon as it closes, leaving me on the other side. I contemplate knocking on the door or just breaking it open, but I know that will only make things worse for her. Instead, I place my hand against the door softly and try to talk to her. "Daliah? Is everything okay?" A stupid question, but I don't know what else to say. She doesn't say anything, and I can hear her heartbeat escalate through the thin wood of the door.
