Mercedes' POV I gulped as I tried to avoid the heat from Bradley as he was standing so close to me.“Why is keeping the wolves a secret so important to you?” I questioned and something ticked in Bradley's jaw.“Do you always have to be so hard-headed?” He asked as his hand slipped behind me and he dragged out the band I had used to secure my mane.My hair came tumbling down in its full waves and Bradley grabbed a handful in his hand, leaned in and inhaled deeply.What the hell was happening? Mercedes' POV My eyes trailed along Bradley's chest and my lips parted as I stared at the severity of his wounds. What had happened to him?“Mercedes?” Bradley curled an amused brow at me and I cleared my throat as I turned to the first aid kit and began removing the items I would need.I took in a deep breath, deliberately avoiding Bradley's eye, as I dabbed some cotton into some spirit and gently swiped around the wounds, careful not to touch them.My hand shook violently and no matter how hard I tried to control it, it seemed as though it had a mind of his own. I blamed it all on my close proximity to Bradley and his unsettling stare on me.“Could you stop staring at me like that?” I blurted out as my cheeks heated and Bradley's lips curled into a smile.“Like what?” He inquired but I ignored him as I continued cleaning up his wounds but his hand suddenly caught my wrist, stopping my movements.My eyes snapped up to him and I waited for him to say something but he remained silent.

Bradley's POV “Can you just stop all the questions and focus?” I asked as I delivered a blow to Benjamin's side.“Time out,” Benjamin announced with a groan as he held onto his side and moved away from me with a glare.“In my defense, you were talking too much and got distracted.” I shrugged innocently.“All I'm asking is what you have against her,” Benjamin asked as he took a swing from his water bottle.“Why would you think I have something against her?” I retorted with the quirk of my brow.I turned away from Benjamin and attacked the punching bag, trying to ease all the tension between my bones.“What was that at the picnic?
