RobinI almost didn’t stop.Her car was pulled over, bonnet up, hazard lights blinking like a warning I wasn’t meant to answer.But I slowed down anyway, didn’t even think about it. Just… slowed.She was already outside, one hand on her hip, the other resting on the edge of the car like she was trying to figure something out. Not panicking, not calling anyone.Just standing there, very calm. That alone made me pull over.I stepped out, keys still in my hand. “You good?”She didn’t jump or anything. Just turned her head slightly, looked at me once but it was quick, assessing, and then back at her car.“I’m fine,” she said. Flat, like she meant it.I walked closer anyway, peeking into the engine. Didn’t touch anything. “Doesn’t look like fine.”“I’ve already called someone,” she replied. “They’re on their way.”That was it.
