บททั้งหมดของ The Silver Alpha: บทที่ 31 - บทที่ 40

* Regina *When I woke up the kitchen was a storm of clattering pots and whispered orders before dawn. Carla and I moved quickly with trays in our hand, the scent of roasted meats and spiced wine clinging to our clothes. We were omega helpers I am not forgetting that, and it was our duty to move quietly, invisibly, through the grandeur of the Western Alpha house."Keep your head down, Regina," Carla hissed under her breath as we passed a line of guards posted near the main corridor. Carla is used to this as she is here since birth while me and my mother only came here less than a year ago."They're already on edge. The Alpha's parents are in one of their moods."I kept my chin tucked, though my eyes darted to the great hall as we stepped inside. It was unrecognizable. Silver and black banners hung from the rafters, the polished floor gleaming with such intensity it was almost like walking over water. Servants darted like shadows, setting goblets in precise places, and arranging gifts.

* Regina *The hall had just finished the chaos between the guests and Alpha Archer. My hands still trembled as I gathered empty goblets from the council's table, the silver cold against my palms. One by one, the three she-wolves finally left Anastasia first, her crimson gown snapping behind her like a flag of war, Nadia not far behind with her proud shoulders rigid as carved stone, and timid Sofia last, eyes still wide and wet, with her pale cheeks. They couldn't believe that Alpha Archer would show such an attitude towards them. They had come as suitors, but they left as enemies. Now there will be a problem for the Western pack, I sighed as I continued my chores. But somehow deep inside my wolf felt glad, Alpha Archer has ended up not having a mate tonight.I ducked my head keeping my hands full and moving between the pillars like a shadow. I wasn't supposed to be listening, but every omega in the hall had ears sharp enough to catch the tension of a wolf's growl from across the cour

* Alpha Archer *It didn't need any warning, when our wolves have decided to duel against each other. The courtyard has roared to life the moment our physical strength begin to clash with the strength that no one can match. I know he is powerful but I am not backing down without trying to fight him.The fight has began with nothing but a look, that flash of emerald dominance from the Alpha King's eyes and the molten gold and silver of my own wolf answering it. Then came the loud tremor. It feels like the earth has split beneath our feet, pebbles skittering away as our auras collided, thick and suffocating. As expected he took the move first. Alpha King Zed's fist cut through the air like a thunderbolt. But I ducked my head low, with the wind of his strike still grazed near my jaw, enough to send fire through all my nerves. He was faster than I expected, too fast and strong for an Alpha at his age.I managed to twist, driving my elbow into his ribs, but he blocked it with a single fore

* Regina *When the following morning comes, I see the sun rise over the West with a pale, wintry light, gilding the training fields with streaks of gold. As I passed by the courtyard where Alpha Archer had fought his uncle the Alpha King, I saw the marks of the clash, cracked stones, scorched patches of earth that were still visible, and the faint metallic scent of their blood was present in the air. The warriors who also passed that place now walked with reverence, whispering about how their Alpha had stood against the Alpha King himself. And though pride fluttered faintly in my chest because he is also my Alpha, it was shadowed by something heavier, worry. I worry about the outcome of what he did. From the balcony where I was cleaning, I could see Luna Zeina standing in the open yard below, her hair pinned high in a crown of blonde braids, her silver robe flowing around her like mist. She is far too beautiful and a sight to see. The wolves had gathered at her command, young omegas

* Regina *From the edge of the circle, Luna Zeina moved closer to Alpha Archer. Though her voice was low, it still carried clearly for everyone to hear in the still air."She's the daughter of Amanda, Donna's friend," she said softly, with her eyes toward me. "A new girl in the pack.""I know who she is," Alpha Archer replied, his tone unreadable. Of course he does."She doesn't belong among the competitors." Luna's gaze sharpened, assessing. "If she fails, the others will take it as weakness in your pack's discipline.""She will have a chance," he said. His words made my hope rise. The Luna's brow arched, just a fraction. "You sound certain."The faintest ghost of a smile crossed his lips, and it was gone before it could fully form. Then he stepped forward again, his voice ringing clear and cold over the courtyard. "The second trial, is about strength. You will lift what is before you, one by one, and carry it across the circle. If you drop it before reaching the other side, you're
