The night was calm outside, but inside Elara’s chamber, the air carried a heavy weight. The feast had ended hours ago, yet no one in that room could rest with ease. Mira sat quietly on the edge of the bed, her hands folded in her lap, her face pale as if she had seen death itself. Elara stayed beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “You are safe now, Mira,” she whispered softly, though her own heart was still racing. “You will not be harmed while I live.” Mira nodded slowly, her lips trembling. “I almost drank it, my lady.
