RAVIEL'S POV I picked up my car key with a furrowed brow. "Can't you wait a bit longer? It's already 5 in the morning." I felt baffled. Calista suddenly stopped everything, rushed to the bathroom to have a bath, and dressed up while claiming she had to leave. "Severin is waiting." She replied, tying her hair. My jaw clenched. "He should be sleeping by now." I reminded. Calista's fingers paused, and she glanced at me. "He isn't. He promised to wait." I felt like sneering. Calista had never felt like someone too trusting, but it seemed I was wrong. "Okay." I conceded. There was no need to insist too long. Our relationship had never been strong to begin with, and no matter how intimate we get, we would still be total strangers to each other. It wasn't my place to dig too deep into her life, and I wouldn't try that either. I turned around and walked toward the door. "I will drop you at the junction then, or what do you think?" "That's cool. I've sent a text to Celine to go back

CALISTA'S POV I drew in a deep breath and nodded. "I promise," I mumbled. The word sounded heavier than it should be...Alice's eyes lit up, and she quickly pulled me in a tight hug. "Thank you, thank you, Calista." She whispered, and liquid fell on my shoulder. She was crying. I frowned deeply. I would hate to think about it, but something didn't feel right. It was as if Alice knew something about Severin that I had no idea about and whatever it was. It wouldn't be nice. My brows creased, and for a moment, I thought of contacting Raviel. He was the only one who could help me find out... however, wouldn't that make me unloyal?Without a doubt, Severin would be mad at me when he found out I had investigated him. Which wouldn't be good for our marriage. A knot formed in my chest. Alice cried for a while before she pulled away and awkwardly wiped her face. She laughed with embarrassment and patted my lap. "You should go upstairs. Severin should have woken up by now." She suggested,

CALISTA'S POV The drive to the office was silent___Not peaceful but heavy, like the calm after a storm I wasn't sure had passed.Maybe Celine had things to report, but I wasn't in the mood to really listen. Severin hadn't found out now, but would he never do? Raviel had been getting too involved with me. A relationship I once thought would end in a few days had spanned longer, to the extent that I no longer wanted to let go. Yes. Hard as it was to admit, I no longer wanted to let go of Raviel. He was dangerous. He could be the end of me. However, he was the thrill I needed to move on. He was the inspiration I needed to hold on and remain strong. And if I were to face Dante in the future... I might need Raviel's help. I sucked in a deep breath and turned my head to see the view along the road. The same view I'd seen a thousand or more times already, but today, it seemed vague. The houses, the cars, the trees, and the people. They all seemed to fade along with my thoughts, and

CALISTA'S POV Celine was already waiting at the entrance of the gallery. She was standing right beside the manager of the gallery, and from a distance, it was obvious the two were hitting it off as Celine kept laughing. The young man, standing at 6'3, almost as tall as Raviel beside me, was seemingly fawning over Celine with a bright smile on his face. Even without getting close, I could tell he was very interested in Celine... and she didn't look too different. A knowing smile formed on my face, and I slowed my pace, intending to give them more time. It was rare to see Celine showing any interest in a man...The seemingly long distance due to my intentionally slow pacing finally decreased, and we stood before them. "Hum." I cleared my throat to attract their attention. Celine jolted, and her eyes widened in surprise. However, her composure soon returned, and she bowed slightly. "Miss," She greeted, and our eyes met. 'Plenty gist?" I asked through my eyes. Celine's lips secret

CALISTA'S POV "He's your father, isn't he?" Raviel asked. My eyes flashed, and disgust washed through me. "He once was... but not anymore," I replied and stood up. "The exhibition should start now." Right then, a knock came from the door. "Come in," I said, and conveniently changed the topic. The door opened, and a lady, seemingly in her late twenties, walked in. "Miss Calista, Mr Raviel, what would you like me to serve you?" She asked with a subservient tone. I glanced at Raviel, who nonchalantly shrugged and returned his gaze to his phone. Then, I returned my attention to the lady and revealed a polite smile. "We are okay," I replied. "By the way, when is the exhibition starting?" The lady smiled. "Mr Louis should be here to pick you up any moment..." She replied. I knew it was her way to tell us she had no idea. However, the door opened in the next seconds, and Louis walked in, accompanied by the smiling Celine. "Miss Calista, Mr Raviel, it's time." He said. I breathed i
