THE EXPOSED SCHEME.Anne's POV“I'm…Nurse Lisa.” I replied, voice trembling under the weight of the moment. I fixed my eyes on hers, without blinking. I stood frozen, my mind blank, my body refusing to move. Then, without warning, she reached for my hand, her grip firm and urgent.“Let's run away,” she whispered, her voice tight with fear. “They are very close….they must not see us.”Before I could respond, she pulled me along, and we started running down the dim hallway.“Okay.” The words accidentally escaped out of my mouth. I don't know how it came out but I knew I opened my mouth and my voice uttered a word.We reached a particular place inside the clinic where we stopped running. We breathed hard, both of our chest rising and falling. I turned to her, my eyes burning with a lot of questions.“How did you reach behind me? How did you know I am hiding from some people there? How….?Before I could add another question, she interrupted me sharply. “This is not the right place to ans

THE END OF HER MARRIAGE.Anne's POV.“Why do you usually behave mannerless?” Michel shrieked, his voice oozing the venom of a snake. His eyes widened with disgust as he was staring at me. I became afraid, taking a few steps backwards as I locked my eyes on them.“I knocked several times but I got no response.” I defended myself, my voice sounded firm but lacked confidence. His commanding atmosphere had stripped me of my stand. I have been overwhelmed by his loud outburst.“Then, you'll have to wait!” He snapped, he didn't even give me enough time to finish my words when he replied. He started advancing toward me, boiling with rage.“Since you've knocked and no response was gotten, you are expected to wait till you're permitted to enter.” He added.“I'm so disappointed in you,” Evie chimed in, glaring at me, pointing her fingers to emphasize how badly I look. “You should be ashamed of yourself. See how you look like a beggar, very dirty and ugly at the same time.”Her words pressed dow

GRANDMOTHER’S PERMISSION.Rose POV.The voice of a car that suddenly pulled to a stop, hit my ears the moment I was about to sink into the chair. The sharp click of the door followed after which prompted me to take a look at what is currently going on outside.“I'm really grateful, friend.” I heard a familiar voice tender a word of appreciation. My mind told me it is Anne's voice. To clarify my doubt, I stepped towards the window, waved it aside and saw Anne with a strange woman, draped herself in a sleek expensive designer gown. “I said it!” I mumbled to myself as I quietly stayed there, enjoying the whole scene. The woman opened the boot, Anne took her bags out, she helped her too with others. I have always been careful who she usually walks with. I have a lot of experience in childhood when friends betray me. “This young lady should be careful.” I whispered, my voice soft but it was oozing of fear and displeasure. The next thing they tried was to pull themselves to an embrace. Sh

FALSE ACCUSATIONSAnne’s POV.Tears streamed down my cheeks. I covered my face in shame. “What is happening here?” Eleanor shrieked, her voice thundering across the shipping mall. The people looked back to see the person that shouted on top of her voice. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene. A realization dawned on her and shook her head in total disapproval. The crowds shifted to allow her to pass toward me when she drew near but was stopped by the reporters that stood by me. The noise of the battle between her and the unyielding reporters thickened the air. “You can't just come and ask her silly questions.” She spat, her voice dripping with fury. Three journalists faced her, one of them suddenly grabbed her arm, as she jerked away. The other two bursted into a scornful laughter. The sound reverberated across the space. “We will drag you outside if you block our way.” They threatened Eleanor totally, raw defiance caught me with surprise. She was known to be a coward back the

ARRIVAL TO HER HOUSEAnne's POV.My eyes landed on Eleanor, which sparked an atmosphere of relief crushing down my tense soul.“Eleanor!” I shouted, rose up from my seat. I couldn't hold the surprise back. “Anne, hope you're safe.” She asked me, advancing toward me. I also stepped forward to meet her. He really did a good job. “Yes, I am safe.” I replied. I can't hold back my excitement. We hugged each other, which spoke of gratitude, the mutual understanding and the sacrifice–tricky rescue she planned to take me out of the public false accusations.A smile curved my parted lips, as we pulled from each other. I locked my eyes on her. I can't think that she was the one who planned the whole thing. “I can't find you again when I was rushed out. You know the shopping mall authority complained of the chaos it caused.” I explained to her. “I was dragged out of the shopping mall,” she explained, dragging me from the doorway to the living room to have a seat. “I quickly called one of m
