Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alpha's dragon Flame : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Soren’s POV It was impossible to get her out of my head. Not for a second. Kahlan. The way she’d confronted me earlier—it had been like standing before a storm I couldn’t predict. Most people, when pushed, lash out, crumble, or run. She hadn’t done any of those. She’d stood there, calm, composed, with eyes that saw too much and a voice that had no business being that steady. And it wasn’t just the calmness that unsettled me—it was the sympathy. Sympathy. For me. Who does that? How could someone have sympathy for me? For the guy who had just humiliated her in front of half the academy? I replayed it over and over, each iteration stabbing at my pride. That voice, calm and steady, calling me out without anger, without fear. I was confused, and worse, I felt something—an unfamiliar tightness in my chest that I refused to name. No one in this academy would dare look at me that way, not after what I’d done to her. But she had. She had looked at me as though I wasn’t the monster I

Soren's Pov These people sure didn’t know when to shut the fuck up. Every hallway I walked through buzzed with whispers. They weren’t even subtle about it—heads tilting, mouths covered with hands, eyes following me like I was some goddamn circus act. The fight with Ethan had spread faster than wildfire. They replayed it like they’d all been there in the ring, like they’d all been the ones with blood dripping from their lips. Pathetic. They didn’t get it. The only reason that fight ended in a tie was because I’d been careless. I’d looked at Ethan and seen a weakling. He wasn’t supposed to last five minutes against me. But he’d surprised me. Got in more hits than I expected. Not enough to beat me, but enough to piss me off. Lesson learned: don’t underestimate anyone. I shoved past a group blocking the stairs, ignoring their wide eyes. Let them talk. Let them spin their little stories. It didn’t matter. Tomorrow was the Choosing, and once that started, nobody would give a damn ab

Kahlan's POV The world stopped. For a second, I thought my heart had, too. The crackle of the dragon’s flames still echoed in my ears, sharp and cruel. The air was thick with smoke, bitter in my lungs. The arena smelled of scorched stone, and still no one moved. All those eyes were on us, on him, on me. I couldn’t move. My knees shook so hard I almost collapsed on the spot, but somehow my mouth still worked. “Soren…” My voice cracked like glass. “I—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean—” His head snapped toward me. And gods, the look in his eyes—if fire could burn colder than ice, that was it. “You didn’t mean?” His voice was low but sharp enough to slice through bone. Then it rose, echoing through the arena, cutting across the stunned silence of every student watching. “Do you have any idea how reckless that was? Do you have any idea what the hell you almost did?” Every word slammed into me, harsher than the fire itself. I flinched, my apology dying in my throat. His voice wasn’t

Kahlan's POV. “I don’t belong here.” “You don’t get it, do you?” His eyes narrowed. “If you disappear, if you go wandering off, I’ll be the one dragged into the fire. I’m responsible for you. I’ll have to give an account for your whereabouts to the instructors. To the board. You’re not just making yourself look bad—you make me look bad too.” The brief flicker of warmth in my chest sputtered and died. I shoved at him hard enough that he stumbled back a step. “That’s it?” My voice shook with fury. “That’s why you care? Because you’ll get in trouble?” His jaw tightened. “It’s not about caring.” “No kidding.” My laugh came out sharp, ugly. “And here I thought for a second you were human.” He studied me, something unreadable flickering in his expression. Then—he laughed. Not a kind laugh. Not even amused. It was sharp and cruel, slicing through me like a blade. “You really are delusional,” he said. “You think this place is about feelings? About holding your hand every time you cry

Kahlan's POV “I’ll train you. Personally.” I was still reeling, thinking that I had imagined what he had said. “Because if you walk away now, it’ll taint my reputation as your instructor. And—” His throat worked. “Because you’re the most daring student I’ve seen in years. Reckless. Infuriating. But daring.” Ahh... So that was the reason. My eyes searched his for any sort of joke. I bit the inside of my mouth in contemplation. What did I really have to lose. Nothing. Nothing was the answer. But I had everything to gain with this deal. I looked up at him, my hands clutching the sheets, “So train me,” I said simply. His eyes were trained in me. We start as soon as I say so. But firstly, if this is going to work... You need to stay under my roof, in this house. With me. Do you understand?" My fave twisted into something that was close to looking like disgust. I opened my mouth to disagree but his next words silenced me. "Take my conditions or leave it." Fine. I wa
