Aria’s POV The morning came slow, and the light outside felt soft and lazy, like the world hadn’t fully woken up yet. I didn’t sleep much the night before; I kept turning over, thinking about everything that had happened, thinking about the fight, the chase, the look on his face when he told me to leave. My head still hurt from it all, like the noise hadn’t gone away even after the silence returned. When I finally got up, the house was quiet, too quiet, the kind of quiet that makes you listen harder for sounds that aren’t there.
