Melissa’s POV I nearly died of anticipation as Ross took me away from the living room. Not even a racehorse’s heart could have beat as fast as my own as he headed towards the dining room. He moved like someone in a trance. Or someone under the influence of something strong and primal. Too afraid to speak, I remained silent as I followed him. When we got to the dining area, he suddenly stopped walking. Before I could make sense of what was happening, he pushed me onto the table. “Stay there,” he growled. I obeyed, not because I wanted to, but because my body refused to move. I was paralyzed by something I couldn’t name. Yet I could feel it trapping me, keeping me stuck on the table like Ross demanded. Was that…desire? The only thing I was able to move were my eyes and they followed Ross as he left the dining room. A minute later, he returned with two similar lengths of rope in his hand. I barely had time to put my thoughts together before he pounced on me, binding both my hand
