LUCIA ~When I opened my eyes, there was already sunlight spilling in across the bed. I can’t remember when I fell asleep and for a moment it feels as if last night was a dream. I looked over at the window and the crack was gone.I stood up to look closely, it was really gone. But when I touched it, I felt a faint hum against my fingers. It was very faint, like a pulse. I tried to convince myself that it was the wind blowing against the window. It was all a dream, I told myself again. The whole thing must have been. But the mark on my palm suggested otherwise. It was no longer burning, but now quiet. As if it was waiting for something.I got dressed quickly and headed downstairs. The packhouse was now alive with activity. The smell of breakfast reached me from the kitchen doorway. I watched through the kitchen window as two young wolves raced across the grass. Their joy was loud, bright, and impossible to believe in.By midmorning, Jenny found me in the garden where I had been sitting

LUCIA ~When I woke up in the morning, everywhere was too bright. Sunlight poured into the room, biting my eyes. For a moment, I just laid there, listening to everything. The hum inside me had gone down, but all of my senses were heightened, making the world so loud.I heard the sound of birds, the sound of people’s footsteps in the hall, the sound of Julius’s heartbeat somewhere in the house. It was as if the world had turned up its volume while I was sleeping.I sat up slowly, the sheet pooling around my waist. My palm tingled where the mark rested, faintly warm but calm, pulsing in rhythm with my breath. It wasn’t burning anymore. It felt… alive. It doesn’t feel like I’m waking up, I thought. It feels like I’ve been asleep for years and finally remembered how to breathe.Julius came in just as I was tying my hair. He stopped at the door, balancing a tray of tea and toast on his hands. He watched me longer than he probably meant to.“You’re staring at me again,” I said softly.“Tryi

JULIUS ~The next day, the packhouse was already alive by the time I stepped out. There was activity everywhere, from the clang metal, to the laughter of pups. The men were sparring like they were preparing for war.“Easy,” I called out, my voice cutting through the noise. “You’re not supposed to kill each other during training.”They paused, panting, eyes wild. One of the young warriors, Hale, looked up at me, his chest heaving.“Sorry, Alpha,” he said, wiping sweat from his brow. “It’s… it’s the air. It feels strange today.”“The air?” ” I answered, stepping closer, my gaze sweeping over the group. A few others nodded, murmuring agreement, their shoulders tense like twisted coils. He nodded, glancing up at the sky. “Yes, Alpha. It smells like a storm’s coming. But there’s no storm. My wolf keeps pacing inside, sniffing at something I can’t place. And the scents, they’re sharper, too. Like everything’s amplified, but wrong.”I tilted my head back. The sky was clear, washed in gold. N

LUCIA ~The conversation I heard was all I could think of, I hardly barely slept. My body still feels strangely energized, it was humming with something I couldn’t name. The new way they looked at me, the whispers, and even my growing feelings for Julius, they all seem to be messing with my head.I pushed it all away with a sigh.Today, is not a day for strange feelings. There is no room for panic or confusion. I am going to focus on only Luna things today.I dressed slowly and carefully, trying my best to look the part of the perfect Luna. The pack house buzzed with its usual chaos. Wolves moved through hallways with purpose, nodding respectfully as I passed. Some even bowed their heads slightly, a gesture of submission I still wasn't used to."Luna Lucia," Axel greeted me near the main hall. "The pack Alphas' mates are gathering in the meeting room, along with some elder she-wolves. They're hoping you'll join them.""Of course." I forced warmth into my smile. "I'll be right there."

JULIUS ~I continued to watch her, her beautiful form bathed in the golden sunlight like some of kind of vision I didn’t deserve to see.My mind continued to race. Different questions forming in it.Did he already get to her first? What exactly did he tell when they were together? The thought tore at my insides, vicious and insistent. I pressed my palm against the window, the cool glass doing nothing to calm the fire burning through my veins. My phone buzzed again. Another message. She remembers more than you think. Ask her about the mirrors. I almost crushed the phone in my hand as I pressed it so tight. The screen cracked a bit under the pressure. Killian’s games were getting bolder and even more taunting. The bastard was doing everything to provoke me and it seems to be working. But I was done playing the defense.“Axel!” I barked into the mind link. “Come to my office. Now!”He showed up within minutes, looking confused but at alert. “What happened, Alpha?”I tossed my phone unto
