Ethan and I dressed casually as we headed to the airport When we arrived, we noticed Micheal was unusually quiet. Ethan also observed his quietness “Are you okay?” He asked, his voice laced with concern Micheal shook his head in affirmation but I could tell something was bothering him. Just when we decided to bask in the tensed quietness, Micheal broke through “Have got some information about my dad” he said, still staring blankly into space. Ethan’s interest piqued immediately and he looked over at Micheal “Should I pull over at our regular spot so we can talk over a drink?” Micheal quickly shook his head “No, let’s just go home. There are things I need to discuss with ma’am Catherine” he replied With this, Ethan’s speed increased. The urgency in Michael’s calm Voice had not gone unnoticed. When we arrived home, Catherine was already waiting for Micheal at the door with a concerned and eager expression She had received his text about needing to ask her a f

I pushed open Catherine’s door as she has refused to open up to anyone. I moved closer and settled beside her, laying a steady hand on her back. I didn’t have words that could mend her broken heart so I offered touch instead. “You know Avery,” she muttered through her tears. “I wish one of them were alive, there are questions I need to ask then” I found no ready comfort to offer so I just gave her a listening ear. Apparently, Catherine wasn’t angry at Micheal she was angry at the breach of trust and loyalty. Just as I was about to say something, the door opened and Catherine came in. I rose and gave Catherine a last gentle squeeze, stepping back to stand aside. Soon, I received a text from Ethan asking for us to be in the living room I quietly excused them, making my way to the room where Ethan, Michal and Lucas were already seated. Moments later, Catherine and Jenkins joined us. I noticed Catherine looking less emotional than she had been. She looked more compo

The beeping sound of the ultra sound scan created a sense of awareness around me.“Ma'am you may now see the doctor” she said and Ethan helped me up as we headed to my Michael's office. We were there for a second ultra sound scan where the gender of my babies will be revealed. Everything was done in a discreet manner as earlier planned. We went to Michael's office and he wasted no time in handing over the envelope to us. I took the envelope from Ethan as they both engaged in a conversation I had no interest in.Soon enough, I became itchy to know the gender of my babies“What if it's a boy or a girl or both boy and girl” My mind raced at the thought of itJust as I was about opening it, Catherine came in immediately. On seeing her, I blurted out“Mom you should stop following us to every doctor's appointment, you're not the one expecting a child”After mimicking what I said, she blurted out“Of course I am expecting a child_grand children”Just then, Catherine stretched out her hand,

I slipped downstairs to check in on Ethan in his study. When I reached the sitting room, I met Ethan and Jenkins in the middle of a conversation. Curiosity prickled my skin. What could be so important that these two would choose to sit and talk? The thought only intensified my curiosity. Unable to resist, I tiptoed closer. A small, mischievous chuckle bubbled up as I saw myself eaves dropping again.I leaned in closer, straining to catch more of the conversation I heard Jenkins say,“Ethan, you do know I love Catherine so much right?”Ethan replied in a light hearted tone that still carries an undercurrent of seriousness“Is that why you kept sending her flowers all these years?”Jenkins sighed with a hint of frustration creeping in his voice “I thought we were over that”“Oh yes! I forgot,” Ethan said, matching Jenkins tone with a teasing smirk.“We're over that”Jenkins chuckled, shaking his head“So can I continue?”Ethan nodded nonchalantly “As I was saying” Jenkins continued

After a few back and forth conversations with Catherine, she finally agreed to come to the venue. I could feel the tension building as we awaited her arrival. Jenkins looked increasingly nervous, his hands fidgeting as he checked his watch. Soon the door opened and Catherine stepped in looking confused “Surprise!” We all shouted Catherine's eyes widened with a look of disbelief as Jenkins took a step forward and the spotlight fell on him, illuminating the heartfelt words displayed prominently. “Will you marry me?” Catherine looked as if all these were too much for her to process. Jenkins approached her slowly and I could tell that she understood what was about to unfold Jenkins knelt down on one knee, looking at Catherine vulnerably. At that moment, all eyes were on him. Catherine began to fidget. “Catherine Blackwood, will you marry me?”. Catherine began to stutter. Jenkins was still kneeling down with an unwavering gaze as he waited for her response. I s
