“Its obvious you and Ethan aren't properly enlightened about marriage and childbirth. I'm sure you're yet to get the children's clothes and arrange the nursery” I suddenly fell quiet knowing they were speaking the truth. Ethan and I have been so busy that we barely had time to prepare for the children's arrival. In our defense, we had only recently found out the baby's gender, and it felt like everything was happening at once. Catherine's voice broke through my thoughts “But that's not a problem, since we are all here, let's do the shopping together” I hesitated for a moment, then replied, “Not all of us, Ethan isn't here” Catherine waved her hand dismissively “There are things that need the eyes and experience of mothers to get. Am sure Ethan wouldn't mind” With a sigh, I finally agreed We made our way to the mall that Catherine had suggested. It was filled with a colorful display of baby materials. While I was at a shelf picking adorable outfits, my phone

Ethan continued, “I was told to drive into the river. I refused at first but then I realized I was surrounded by men with guns and masked faces, ready to pull the trigger if I refused” Ethan fell silent for a while “I saw a chance of survival if I drive into the river” Ethan narrated how he zoomed with speed into the river and struggled for his life. “I was able to hit the window glasses continuously until I broke through it. When I did, I became too weak to swim out as I began to drown” “Just then,a sudden force pulled me up. At first, I thought it was my enemies trying to make sure I had died. But the person began to swim towards the shore” “I looked up and saw Jenkins. Jenkins saved my life again, love” At that moment, I looked at Jenkins and muttered a ‘thank you’ to him Catherine looked at Jenkins and a smile emerged on her lips Ethan glanced towards Jenkins and weakly said “Thank you for saving my life again. You're truly a father figure” Jenkins let

“Ohhh, Ethan. I want you so badly” I blurted out unexpectedly and covered my lips in response. I was shy around him all over again. Ethan moved my hands from my lips “Let it all out for me, love. Don't hold back” Ethan said as he moved downwards, scrubbing every part of me gently and just when I thought we could go further in the bathroom, he hurriedly scrubbed himself and pulled me in as water cascaded down our bodies. Ethan carried me back to the bedroom. I clinged to him, looking at him closely as thoughts swirled through me “Is it the pregnancy?” “Am I not attractive to him anymore?” “Why isn't he taking it any further?” I just couldn't take it any longer I looked at him through the vanity mirror as he dried my hair. Soon I had to let out that question “Ethan, don't you want me anymore?” I asked Ethan looked at me with a smile creeping into his face “Why isn't he saying anything?” I thought to myself but didn't feel the need to ask any further Etha

I woke up the next morning to Ethan already awake, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. He looked so restless that I couldn’t ignore. “Why are you up so early,” I asked, sitting and rubbing the sleep off my eyes. Ethan turned to me and ask “Who did you call to know if I was still in the office?” “Jonathan” I replied casually At the mention of Jonathan's name, Ethan’s brow creased even more I sat up as my concern deepened “Ethan is there anything wrong” He signed, running a hand through his hair “When I realized I was going to be leaving the office really late, I asked Jonathan and the rest of the workers to go home, and they left” “Maybe he didn’t leave the office immediately” I suggested, trying to piece it all together He continued, “I made sure they did. And they left two hours before I did” Suddenly it all began to make sense. I hesitated before speaking “When I called Jonathan, he asked me to give him a minute to check if you were still in the office. C

“Love, let me come with you please” Ethan said as we walked down the stairs I smiled but shook my head gently “Ethan, this outing is just for me and dad. You can't come” He pouted his lips like a child, leaving me laughing out loud “Ethan stop acting like a child. I have to go dad is already waiting for me” As we reached the door, I turned to him and gave him a quick kiss “Alright, but don't be too long” he said “I won't” As dad dad i arrived at the park, I looked around and noticed some changes The refreshing feeling I used to have was absent “Is it the pregnancy hormone?” I thought to myself Dad broke the silence as he glanced over me “How are my grandbabies doing?” I looked at him with a smile spreading “Well, approaching the third trimester hasn't been easy, dad” Dad stared blankly into space and looked down at me with a thoughtful expression I could tell something was bothering him “Come on dad, let it out” I blurted out He let out a chuckle
