Ex-Hockey Star Regret のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 141 - チャプター 150

Nicole's POVIf Bianca had known what was coming her way, then she would have wished today never came. But then, it is what it is.For the past 7 minutes, we have been on a call with Detective Joe; the call was on 'speak out' so that both Brad and I would be hearing him at the same time and so we wouldn't have to place it on our ear before we hear him. Besides, we needed to make it unsuspicious so that in case Bianca walked in anytime, she wouldn't suspect that everything she would say will be recorded.Brad was sitting tensely beside me. I could see his jaw clenched tight. His fingers tapping nervously against the bed sheets. This was actually meant to be hard for him. Watching his wife about to walk into a trap. But knowing the level of everything she'd done, no one in their normal sense will feel an atom of pity for Bianca because evil people like her deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison."From my calculation from the time she entered the gate, she must be close to th

Nicole's POVBy the time I rushed back with the doctor, with the other nurses, aside from the particular nurse who the tray she held mistakenly fell and in turn led to all these, the officers and Detective Joe were about to take Bianca, Rowan and Sophia out of the room.I guess they were going to the police station from here but honestly, I cared less about all of that for now as I was still panicking with the thoughts of something must be actually wrong for Brad to pass out just like that considering the way he kept on hitting his head and all before he finally passed out.My hands were shaking as I held the door open for the doctor and nurses. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. The doctor moved quickly to Brad's bedside. He didn't waste time and then he just went straight to work. The doctor came close to his chest and placed his stethoscope against Brad's skin, listening carefully. His face was focused and looking serious. Like he was trying to pick up someth

Nicole's POVI was already in the doctor's office in a jiffy as I just rushed in breathing heavily, remembering the doctor's instructions before he had left that I should come to call him immediately; the moment I noticed that Brad was awake."Doctor, he just opened his eyes and closed them."My voice came out shaky. Adrenaline was pumping through me so fast I could barely stand still.Doctor Ken looked up from his desk and his expression shifted immediately. He didn't ask questions or waste a single second. He just grabbed his stethoscope and stood up."Let's go." He said firmly. He stepped into the hallway and called out to the nurses at the station. "Nurse Abby, come with me now. And you three—" He pointed at the others. "Get the vitals monitor, IV fluids, and oxygen regulator. Bring them to room 204 immediately."The nurses moved fast. One of them grabbed a rolling cart with equipment while the others followed behind.I led the way back to Brad's room as my heart was pounding so h

Nicole's POV "Do take care of yourself, Brad. I will be going now. I will definitely come to see you tomorrow and hopefully every other day." I said and then turned to leave the moment I helped to put some of his things at the trunk of the car, and then was moving away. In my mind, I was going towards the gate to see where I could pick a cab to drop me at my house. My feet had barely taken three steps when I heard his voice. "Where are you going?" Brad asked softly. I stopped and then turned around. He was standing there beside the car, looking at me with an expression I couldn't quite read. Confusion maybe, it could still be a hurt expression or both. "I am going to my house, of course." I replied to him. It seemed obvious. We'd just left the hospital. He was going home with his mother. I was going back to my place. That's how it should

Nicole's POVAs we got into the house, although still in the sitting room; Brad went straight to my lips like they were all his and gave me a kiss that I never knew that I was secretly craving for.The kiss was sudden and unexpected. But the moment his lips touched mine, everything else faded away. The questions, the doubts, the hurt and all of it just disappeared for that brief moment. His hands cupped my face gently. Like I was something precious or let's say, something he'd been afraid of losing. But before I could even think straight, he went on to say, "I love you, baby. And thank you so much for always being there in thick and thin. In my worst moment, you were always there. You are the best that has happened to me and I couldn't have asked for more. You know, you went all out for me even when you feel it's the normal thing but you and I know that it's not the normal thing. You know, I really don't know if I would have survived all of these if not for the love you showed me."His
